Stranded Seduction

Stranded Seduction

Chapter 1: The Stormy Encounter

Lila Voss, a fierce 24-year-old entrepreneur, found herself stranded at the opulent Grand Maris Hotel during a freak coastal storm. The rain battered the windows like a jealous lover, and the power had flickered out hours ago, leaving the lobby in a sultry haze of candlelight. She wasn’t some damsel in distress, though—Lila had built her tech startup from the ground up, and a little bad weather wasn’t about to break her stride. Still, being stuck in a near-empty hotel with no Wi-Fi and a dead phone battery was testing her patience.

She leaned against the polished mahogany bar, sipping a glass of overpriced whiskey she’d charmed out of the lone bartender before he’d disappeared to ‘check on supplies.’ Her sharp green eyes scanned the dimly lit room, landing on a figure slouched in a leather armchair by the fireplace. He was rugged, mid-30s, with a jawline that could cut glass and a smirk that screamed trouble. His name, she’d overheard earlier, was Cade. A contractor, stuck here just like her, waiting out the storm.

‘So, you gonna stare all night, or are you gonna say something worth hearing?’ Lila called out, her voice cutting through the quiet like a blade. She wasn’t shy, and she sure as hell wasn’t about to play coy.

Cade’s smirk widened as he straightened up, his dark eyes glinting with mischief. ‘Oh, darlin’, I’ve got plenty to say. Just didn’t think a woman like you would wanna hear it from a guy like me.’

‘Try me,’ she shot back, arching a brow as she took another sip of whiskey, letting the burn linger on her tongue. ‘I’m bored out of my mind, and you look like you’ve got a story or two.’

He chuckled, low and rough, standing to close the distance between them. Up close, she could smell the faint musk of his cologne mixed with the smoky warmth of the fire. ‘Stories? Sure. But I’m more interested in making one. You’ve got a fire in you, don’t you? I can see it from here.’

Lila didn’t flinch, her gaze locked on his. ‘Keep talking like that, and you might get burned, Cade. I don’t play nice.’

‘Good,’ he murmured, stepping closer, his voice dropping to a growl. ‘I don’t want nice. I want real. Raw. You look like you could handle that.’

Her lips curled into a wicked smile as she set her glass down with a deliberate clink. ‘Oh, I can handle a lot more than you think. Question is, can you keep up?’

The air between them crackled, thick with unspoken promises. Lila felt a heat pooling low in her belly, her pulse quickening as Cade’s hand brushed against her arm, the touch electric. She wasn’t about to back down—not now, not ever. She tilted her head, her voice a sultry challenge. ‘So, what’s your move, tough guy? Gonna stand there all night, or are you gonna show me what you’ve got?’

Cade’s eyes darkened, his breath hitching as he leaned in, his lips hovering just inches from hers. ‘Careful what you ask for, Lila. I don’t hold back.’

‘Neither do I,’ she whispered, her fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt, pulling him closer. The storm outside roared, but it was nothing compared to the tempest building between them. Their lips were about to crash together, a collision of raw need and untamed desire, when—
