Rory was buried under a mountain of books and papers, her hair pulled up into a messy bun as she furrowed her brow, completely engrossed in her studies. The sound of the door swinging open startled her, causing her to look up and see her mother, Lorelai, burst into the room with an excited expression on her face.
"Dean's coming over for dinner tonight, kiddo!" Lorelai announced, clapping her hands together.
Rory groaned, rolling her eyes. "Seriously, mom? I have a test tomorrow. I can't be bothered with Dean right now."
Lorelai shrugged, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Well, you might want to put a little effort into your outfit. Dean always did like it when you dressed up."
Rory scoffed, shaking her head. "I'm not trying to impress Dean, mom. He's just a family friend."
Dean arrived a few hours later, dressed casually in a t-shirt and jeans. He complimented Rory on her own jeans and t-shirt combo, but couldn't help but suggest that she wear dresses and skirts more often.
"You have great legs, Rory. You should show them off," he said, winking at her.
Rory was skeptical, but Lorelai encouraged her to try it out. Dean even offered to take Rory shopping for new clothes.
At the clothing store, Dean was very hands-on, picking out skirts and dresses for Rory to try on. He insisted that she shave her legs and armpits, saying it was more feminine.
Rory was uncomfortable, but she didn't want to disappoint Dean or Lorelai. She tried on the clothes and modeled them for Dean.
Dean was pleased with the way Rory looked and bought her several outfits. He told her that she needed to dress like this all the time, not just for special occasions.
Rory was starting to feel overwhelmed, but she didn't know how to say no to Dean. She agreed to wear the new clothes.
