Summer Heat at Lou's Bagels

Summer Heat at Lou's Bagels

Chapter 1: The Sizzle of Rebellion

Nick slouched behind the counter at Lou's Bagels, the scent of freshly baked dough clinging to his faded skater tee. At seventeen, he’d rather be grinding rails at the local skate park or lost in a virtual battlefield than slinging cream cheese to cranky morning commuters. His father’s ultimatum echoed in his head—shape up over the summer or get kicked out. With Dad away on a business trip, Nick had three months to either transform into the ‘responsible son’ or figure out how to survive on his own. But responsibility was the last thing on his mind when *she* walked in.

The bell above the door chimed, and in strutted Mia, the kind of girl who could stop traffic with a smirk. Her dark hair spilled over her shoulders, and her tight tank top hugged curves that made Nick’s jaw tighten. She was a senior, a year ahead of him, and the undisputed queen of the local skate scene. Rumor had it she could out-trick anyone at the park—and outwit them just as fast. She leaned on the counter, her hazel eyes glinting with mischief.

'Well, well, if it isn’t Nick, the bagel boy,' she teased, her voice dripping with playful scorn. 'Did Daddy finally chain you to something other than a controller?'

Nick smirked, wiping his hands on his apron, trying to play it cool despite the heat creeping up his neck. 'Funny, Mia. Thought you’d be too busy shredding to slum it here. What, no half-pipe to conquer today?'

She laughed, sharp and bright, her gaze flicking over him like she was sizing up a challenge. 'Oh, I’ve got time to mess with you. Gimme a sesame with extra schmear. And don’t skimp—I know you’re good with your hands.' She winked, and Nick felt his pulse kick up a notch.

'Careful, I might spread more than cream cheese if you keep talking like that,' he shot back, grabbing a bagel and slicing it with a little too much force. Her eyes narrowed, but the smirk stayed, daring him to keep up.

'You think you can handle me, skater boy?' she purred, leaning closer, her breath warm against the counter between them. 'I’ve broken tougher guys than you without breaking a sweat.'

Nick grinned, sliding the bagel across to her, his fingers brushing hers just long enough to send a jolt through him. 'I’m not looking to be broken, Mia. I’m looking to play. Question is, can you keep up with me?'

Her laugh was low, dangerous, as she took the bagel, her fingers lingering on his for a split second. 'Oh, I’ll keep up. But don’t cry when I leave you in the dust—or on your knees.'

The air between them crackled, thick with unspoken challenges. Nick’s mind raced, picturing her fierce grin as she pinned him down, her body pressed against his, all heat and defiance. He could almost feel the sweat beading on his skin, his cock stirring at the thought of her taking control, her wet heat driving him wild. Mia bit into the bagel, her eyes never leaving his, and he knew this summer was about to get a hell of a lot hotter.

As she turned to leave, she tossed over her shoulder, 'Meet me at the park tonight, bagel boy. Let’s see if you’ve got any real moves.' The door swung shut behind her, and Nick stood there, hard and restless, already counting the hours until he could show her just how much game he had.
