Sunlit Secrets in Tenerife

Sunlit Secrets in Tenerife

Chapter 1: Heat of the Afternoon

The Tenerife sun blazed overhead, a relentless golden tyrant that made the whitewashed villa shimmer like a mirage. I’d escaped the group’s beach antics early, citing a headache, though truthfully, I just craved solitude. That is, until Elena—my best friend’s partner—stumbled back to the villa with me, her olive skin flushed, claiming she felt ‘unwell.’ I didn’t buy it for a second. Her dark eyes glinted with something far from sickness as we stepped into the cool, tiled interior.

‘Feeling faint, are we?’ I teased, tossing my sunglasses onto the counter with a clatter. My voice dripped with skepticism as I leaned against the kitchen island, arms crossed, appraising her. She wore a crimson bikini that clung to her curves like a second skin, and damn if she didn’t know it.

Elena smirked, brushing a strand of black hair from her face, her gaze locking with mine. ‘Oh, please, Cara. Don’t act like you’re my nursemaid. I just needed a break from the chaos. And maybe... a different kind of heat.’ Her voice was low, a velvet challenge that sent a spark straight down my spine.

I raised an eyebrow, stepping closer, the air between us crackling. ‘Is that so? And what exactly do you mean by that, darling? Because I’m not in the mood for games.’ My tone was sharp, but my pulse was already racing. I wasn’t some blushing ingénue; I knew a come-on when I saw one, and Elena was practically broadcasting it.

She laughed, a throaty sound that echoed off the walls, and took a bold step forward, closing the distance. Her fingers grazed my arm, light but deliberate. ‘Games? No, Cara. I’m deadly serious. You think I haven’t noticed how you look at me? Like you’re starving, and I’m the only thing on the menu.’

I snorted, but my breath hitched as her touch lingered, warm and teasing. ‘Bold words for someone who’s supposed to be unwell. What’s your plan, Elena? Seduce me while everyone’s splashing in the waves? That’s a dangerous line to cross.’ I tilted my head, challenging her right back, my own hand brushing against her hip, testing her resolve.

Her eyes darkened, a storm brewing in them as she pressed closer, her body heat mingling with mine. ‘Dangerous? Good. I like a little risk. And I think you do too. So, are we going to keep sparring, or are you going to do something about this... tension?’ Her lips curled into a wicked smile, and I could feel the unspoken dare hanging between us.

My restraint snapped like a taut wire. I grabbed her waist, pulling her flush against me, her gasp sharp and satisfying. ‘You’ve got a mouth on you, Elena. Let’s see if you can back it up.’ My words were a growl as I backed her against the counter, her curves pressing into me, igniting every nerve. Her hands slid up my back, nails digging in just enough to make me hiss, and I knew we were past the point of witty banter.

The room seemed to shrink, the air thick with anticipation. Her breath was hot against my neck as she whispered, ‘Show me what you’ve got, Cara. I’m not fragile.’ That was all the invitation I needed. My hands roamed lower, gripping her ass with a hunger I hadn’t realized I’d been suppressing, while her fingers tangled in my hair, pulling me into a kiss that was all fire and demand. Our bodies were already sweating in the humid villa, the scent of salt and desire mixing as we moved with a rhythm that promised something explosive.

And as her bikini top slipped under my insistent fingers, I knew this afternoon was about to get a hell of a lot hotter.
