Sunlit Temptations

Sunlit Temptations

Chapter 1: Poolside Provocations

The sun blazed over the suburban backyard, casting a golden sheen on the rippling surface of the pool. Mia, a fiery 25-year-old with a sharp tongue and a body that could stop traffic, lounged on a deck chair in a barely-there red bikini. Her toned legs glistened with sunscreen, and her dark sunglasses hid the mischief in her hazel eyes. She was home for the summer, and already, the tension in the air was thicker than the humidity.

Her father, Jack, a rugged 48-year-old with a salt-and-pepper beard and a physique that still turned heads, emerged from the house with a beer in hand. He wore nothing but swim trunks, his broad chest dusted with hair and glistening with a light sheen of sweat from the heat. He caught sight of Mia and smirked, setting the beer down on the table beside her.

“Damn, kiddo, you trying to give the neighbors a heart attack with that getup?” Jack teased, his voice low and gravelly, a playful edge cutting through.

Mia tilted her head, lowering her sunglasses just enough to lock eyes with him. “Oh, please, Dad. If anyone’s causing a scene, it’s you, strutting around like you’re auditioning for a calendar shoot. What’s next, oiling up for the full effect?”

Jack chuckled, dropping into the chair beside her, his gaze lingering a little too long on the curve of her hip. “Careful, Mia. Keep talking like that, and I might think you’re flirting with your old man.”

She grinned, sharp and wicked, leaning forward so her cleavage was impossible to ignore. “And what if I am? You gonna pretend you haven’t been staring since I got out here? I’m not blind, Jack.” Her use of his name, not ‘Dad,’ hung in the air like a dare.

He shifted in his seat, a flicker of heat in his eyes as he took a long swig of his beer. “You’re trouble, you know that? Always have been. But I’m not some dumbass kid who’s gonna fall for your games.”

Mia laughed, a throaty sound that sent a shiver down his spine. “Games? Oh, honey, I don’t play. I win. And right now, I’m thinking a dip in the pool might cool off all this... tension.” She stood, stretching deliberately, her ass swaying as she sauntered to the water’s edge. “You coming, or are you just gonna sit there getting hard over your own daughter?”

Jack’s jaw tightened, but the smirk never left his face. He stood, following her with a predator’s grace. “You’ve got a mouth on you, Mia. Keep pushing, and I might have to shut it.”

She dove into the pool, surfacing with her hair slicked back, water dripping down her curves. “Promises, promises,” she taunted, swimming closer to him as he waded in. The water did nothing to douse the fire between them; if anything, it made every touch of skin against skin feel electric.

They circled each other, the air crackling with unspoken desire. Mia’s hand brushed his chest under the water, her nails grazing just enough to make him hiss. “Oops,” she purred, her voice dripping with mock innocence. “Did I do that?”

Jack grabbed her wrist, pulling her close, their bodies pressed together in the cool water. “You’re playing with fire, girl,” he growled, his breath hot against her ear. “And I’m about two seconds from burning this whole damn place down.”

Her lips curled into a smirk as she tilted her head back, her wet skin glistening in the sunlight. “Then do it, Jack. I’m not some fragile little thing. Show me what you’ve got.”

Their mouths were inches apart, the heat of their breath mingling, when—
