The intoxicating scent of sugar and joy hung heavy in the air of Brigitte’s candy garden, a wonderland of sweets and treats that would make even the most disciplined mortal’s mouth water. The goddesses reclined on giant candy canes, their laughter echoing off the striped walls as they gossiped and giggled. Plush gumdrop pillows, spearmint leaves, and licorice vines served as their plush seating, creating an atmosphere of decadence and delight.
Brigitte, Hera, Amphitrite, and Persephone exchanged knowing smiles, their eyes twinkling with mischief as they discussed their pregnancy cravings. Brigitte, the radiant goddess of the sun, ran a hand over her swollen belly, a picture of pure joy. Hera, the queen of the gods, boasted about how Zeus could hardly keep up with her insatiable appetite for roasted meats.
“The man can barely keep up!” Hera declared, a wicked grin on her face. “I swear, I’ve never eaten so much in my entire existence.”
Amphitrite, the goddess of the sea, shared a playful insult about Poseidon’s inability to satisfy her thirst for seafood. “If only Poseidon could make the ocean taste as good as his cooking,” she quipped, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
Persephone, the goddess of the underworld, revealed her unique craving for both sweet and savory treats. “I find myself craving the most peculiar combinations,” she shared, a mischievous grin on her face. “Honeyed pork chops, anyone?”
The goddesses burst into laughter, their voices ringing out in the candy-coated air. They reminisced about their husbands’ reactions to finding out they were pregnant, each goddess sharing her own hilarious story. Brigitte mimicked Apollo’s shock and awe, while Hera impersonated Zeus’s thunderous roar. Amphitrite imitated Poseidon’s sea of emotions, and Persephone shared a wicked grin as she recalled Hades’ icy silence.
As their laughter subsided, they moved on to discuss their husbands’ reactions to finding out the gender of their unborn children. Brigitte proudly shared Apollo’s excitement upon learning they were expecting a boy, her eyes alight with joy. Hera and Amphitrite exchanged eye rolls as they recalled their husbands’ initial disappointment, followed by their eventual acceptance.
Persephone’s face lit up as she shared the news of her twins, one boy and one girl, leaving the goddesses in awe. “Twins?” Brigitte gasped, her eyes wide with amazement. “Oh, Persephone, you’ll have your hands full!”
The goddesses discussed how their husbands had been treating them since they got pregnant. Brigitte shared her joy as Apollo doted on her every need, while Hera complained about Zeus’s newfound protectiveness.
“He won’t let me out of his sight!” Hera huffed, her arms crossed in annoyance. “I swear, if he hovers over me any more, I might just smother him with a pillow.”
Amphitrite confessed that Poseidon had been overly attentive, but she secretly enjoyed the extra affection. “It’s rather sweet, in a suffocating sort of way,” she admitted, a playful smile on her lips.
As the sun began to set, casting a warm, golden glow over the candy garden, the goddesses continued to share stories, their laughter and love echoing through the air. And though their bellies grew rounder and their days grew more tiring, their spirits remained as bright and vibrant as the candy-coated world around them.
