The air in Brigitte's Candyland Palace was thick with sugar and excitement as the four goddesses gathered around a table laden with candies and sweets. Brigitte, Hera, Amphitrite, and Persephone were all pregnant, and they had come together to share their experiences and support each other.
Brigitte, the goddess of fertility and childbirth, spoke first. "I swear, I can't keep anything down these days. I'm constantly nibbling on something sweet to try and quell my morning sickness."
Hera, the queen of the gods, nodded in understanding. "I know the feeling. Zeus has been keeping me up at all hours with his restless nights. I swear, that man could snore loud enough to wake the dead."
Amphitrite, the goddess of the sea, chimed in. "At least you're getting some sleep. My tender breasts are keeping me up at night. Poseidon can't seem to keep his hands off of me."
Persephone, the goddess of the underworld, laughed. "I'd take that any day. Hades is so preoccupied with his kingdom that he barely notices I'm pregnant."
The goddesses exchanged playful insults about their husbands, with Brigitte teasing Hera about Zeus's forgetfulness. "At least Apollo is excited about the baby. He's been playing his lyre non-stop since I told him the news."
Hera countered by bringing up Zeus's thunderous reaction. "Zeus was shocked, to say the least. He nearly blew the roof off the palace with his thunder."
Amphitrite mimicked Poseidon's wave-like emotions. "Poseidon was happy one moment and sad the next. It was like watching the tide come in and out."
Persephone shared how Hades was stoic, but later surprised her with a gift. "He didn't say much when I told him, but later that night, he brought me a beautiful pearl necklace. He said it was a symbol of our growing family."
The goddesses revealed they were all having boys, with Brigitte expressing her hope for a daughter someday. "I'd love to have a little girl to spoil. But for now, I'll take my little boy and all the love he'll bring."
Hera suggested that they have a friendly competition to see who could guess the name of each other's unborn children. "It could be fun. And it might take our minds off of our husbands for a while."
Amphitrite playfully declined, stating that she and Poseidon already had a name picked out. "We're calling him Triton. After Poseidon's father, of course."
Persephone shared that she and Hades had two names, causing the others to be intrigued. "We can't decide between Hypnos and Thanatos. They're both such powerful names."
Brigitte proposed that they meet again to share their progress and continue their gathering, with Hera, Amphitrite, and Persephone agreeing.
As the goddesses left Brigitte's palace, they looked forward to their next meeting and the journey of their pregnancies. The sweet air of the palace lingered in their nostrils, a reminder of the bond they shared and the love they had for their unborn children.
