Tangled Desires

Tangled Desires

Chapter 1: Forbidden Glances

The summer heat clung to Umair’s family home like a lover’s desperate embrace, the air thick with unspoken tension as relatives poured in for the annual gathering. Umair, with his sharp jawline and smoldering dark eyes, leaned against the kitchen counter, a smirk playing on his lips as he caught Maria’s gaze from across the crowded living room. She was a vision in a crimson sundress, her curves unapologetic, her eyes daring him to look away. Maria wasn’t just his cousin—she was a storm waiting to break, and he’d been craving the chaos for years.

‘Nice dress,’ Umair called out, his voice low, teasing, as he sauntered closer, a glass of iced tea sweating in his hand. ‘Trying to kill someone today, or is that just for me?’

Maria arched a brow, her lips curling into a wicked smile as she crossed her arms, pushing her chest just a little higher. ‘Careful, Umair. Keep staring like that, and I might think you’ve got a death wish. Or something harder to handle.’

He chuckled, stepping into her space, the scent of her jasmine perfume hitting him like a punch. ‘Oh, I can handle hard. Question is, can you keep up?’

Her eyes flashed with challenge, and she leaned in, her breath hot against his ear. ‘Try me, cousin. I don’t break easy.’

The room buzzed with family chatter, but their corner felt like a battlefield, charged with a current no one else could see. Aleeza, the third piece of their unspoken triangle, watched from the hallway, her sharp features tightening with a mix of envy and hunger. But Umair and Maria were too caught in their game to notice.

‘Come with me,’ Umair murmured, his voice a command wrapped in velvet. ‘I’ve got something to show you upstairs.’

Maria didn’t hesitate, her heels clicking with purpose as she followed him through the house, past the laughter and clinking glasses, up to his bedroom. The door clicked shut behind them, and the world outside faded. She turned to him, hands on her hips, her gaze cutting through the dim light. ‘So, what’s this big secret? Or did you just want me alone to talk shit?’

Umair grinned, closing the distance in two strides, his hands finding her waist. ‘No talking, Maria. I’ve waited too fucking long for this.’

Her breath hitched, but she didn’t pull away. Instead, she grabbed his shirt, yanking him closer, her lips crashing into his with a ferocity that matched the fire in her eyes. Their kiss was a war—teeth clashing, tongues battling, hands roaming with greedy intent. She shoved him back toward the bed, her fingers already tugging at his belt. ‘You think you’re in charge here? Think again.’

He growled, flipping her around so her back hit the mattress, his body pinning hers as he kissed down her neck. ‘Keep talking, babe. I’m gonna make that pretty mouth scream.’

Her laugh was sharp, daring, as she wrapped her legs around him, pulling him tighter. ‘Big words, Umair. Let’s see if that cock of yours can back them up.’

His eyes darkened, a primal hunger taking over as he slid a hand under her dress, finding her already wet, dripping with need. ‘Fuck, Maria, you’re soaked. Been thinking about this all day, haven’t you?’

‘Shut up and do something about it,’ she snapped, her nails digging into his shoulders, urging him on as their clothes started to shed, the room filling with the sound of their panting, the heat of their skin, and the promise of something explosive about to ignite.
