Chapter 1: The Proposition
The dimly lit bar buzzed with the low hum of conversation and the clink of glasses, but at the corner booth, the air crackled with something far more electric. Eva leaned forward, her sharp green eyes glinting with mischief as she twirled a strand of her dark hair around her finger. Across from her, James smirked, his rugged jawline tightening as he sipped his whiskey, clearly enjoying the tension. Beside him, Nelly, his best friend since college, shifted in her seat, her full lips curling into a curious grin.
“So, let me get this straight,” Nelly said, her voice dripping with playful skepticism. “You two want to spice things up, and I’m the lucky guinea pig? I’m flattered, but I don’t even know if I swing that way, Eva.”
Eva’s laugh was low and sultry, sending a shiver down James’s spine. “Oh, come on, Nelly. You’ve never wondered what it’s like to feel a woman’s touch? Soft, slow, teasing…” She let the words hang in the air, her gaze locking with Nelly’s, daring her to bite.
Nelly raised an eyebrow, unfazed. “I’ve wondered plenty, sweetheart. But wondering and doing are two very different beasts. What’s in it for me, besides being your little experiment?”
James chuckled, leaning back with a cocky grin. “Trust me, Nel, it’s not just an experiment. Eva’s got a wicked imagination, and I’ve got… well, let’s just say I’m very good at sharing.” His eyes darkened as he glanced at Eva, who bit her lip, clearly relishing the game.
“Sharing, huh?” Nelly shot back, crossing her arms, her tone sharp but intrigued. “You think I’m just gonna jump into bed with you two because you bat your eyelashes and flash those dimples, James? I’m not that easy.”
Eva leaned closer, her voice dropping to a husky whisper. “We don’t want easy, Nelly. We want wild. Unpredictable. We want to see how far we can push each other. And I think you’re exactly the kind of woman who’d love to test those limits.” Her fingers brushed against Nelly’s hand on the table, a fleeting touch that sent a jolt through the air.
Nelly didn’t pull away. Instead, her smirk widened. “You’re trouble, Eva. And you know it.”
“Damn right I am,” Eva purred, her eyes flickering with heat. “So, what do you say? One night. No strings. Just us, exploring every inch of what we’ve been too afraid to try.”
James’s voice cut in, low and rough. “Think about it, Nel. The three of us, tangled up, sweating, losing ourselves in it. You’ve never backed down from a challenge before.”
Nelly’s breath hitched, her confident facade faltering for just a moment as she looked between them. The heat in the booth was palpable now, the unspoken promise of what could happen hanging heavy. She licked her lips, her voice barely above a whisper. “Fine. But if we’re doing this, I’m not just along for the ride. I play to win.”
Eva’s grin was predatory as she stood, gesturing toward the door. “Then let’s take this somewhere private. I’ve got a feeling we’re all about to win tonight.”
They stumbled into James’s apartment minutes later, the tension exploding as the door slammed shut. Eva pushed Nelly against the wall, her hands firm on her hips, their lips crashing together in a hungry, experimental kiss. James watched, his breath ragged, already hard as he shed his jacket. “Fuck, you two look good together,” he growled, stepping closer, his hands itching to join the fray.
Eva pulled back just enough to smirk at him, her voice dripping with command. “Patience, babe. We’re just getting started.” Her fingers slid under Nelly’s shirt, tracing the curve of her waist, while Nelly’s eyes burned with a mix of nerves and raw, unfiltered desire. The night was young, and the heat was only beginning to build.
