Chapter 1: The Spark of Tears
The room was thick with tension, the kind that had been simmering for weeks in the Kageyama-Hinata household. The couple, married for six years, had weathered their share of storms, but tonight felt different. A biting wind howled outside their cozy apartment, rattling the windows as if echoing the chaos brewing within. Hinata stood in the center of the living room, her fiery orange hair a wild halo under the dim light, her eyes blazing with a mix of hurt and fury. Kageyama, tall and imposing, leaned against the wall, her dark hair falling into her piercing blue eyes, trying—and failing—to look anywhere but at her wife.
'WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?' Hinata screamed, her voice cracking with raw emotion, tears already brimming in her amber eyes. 'Do you think I’m some kind of toy for you to mess with? I found the damn list, Kageyama! All the little ways you’ve been trying to make me cry! What the hell is wrong with you?'
Kageyama’s heart thudded in her chest, a mix of guilt and something darker, something she couldn’t quite name. She looked away, her jaw tight, fingers digging into her palms. 'I… I didn’t mean for it to be like that, Shoyo. I just—'
'You just what?' Hinata snapped, stepping closer, her small frame vibrating with anger. 'You just thought it’d be fun to see me break down? To push me until I’m sobbing like some pathetic mess? Do you get off on that or something?'
The accusation hit Kageyama like a punch, and yet, heat coiled low in her belly at the sight of those tears spilling down Hinata’s flushed cheeks. She hated herself for it, but god, Hinata looked so beautiful when she cried—majestic, untamed, like a storm personified. Kageyama swallowed hard, her voice low and rough. 'You don’t understand. It’s not about hurting you. It’s… it’s about how you look when you’re so raw, so real. I can’t help it. You’re breathtaking.'
Hinata blinked, caught off guard, her tears momentarily stilled. 'Breathtaking?' she echoed, her tone sharp but wavering. 'You’re seriously trying to sweet-talk your way out of this? You’re sick, Kageyama.'
'I’m not!' Kageyama shot back, finally meeting her gaze, her own eyes burning with a desperate intensity. 'I’m obsessed with you, okay? Every part of you. Even the parts you hide. When you cry, it’s like I’m seeing all of you, and I… I crave it. I’m sorry, I know it’s messed up, but I’m so damn attracted to you it hurts.'
The confession hung heavy between them, the air crackling with unspoken tension. Hinata’s breath hitched, her lips parting as she processed the words. She should’ve been angrier, should’ve stormed out, but there was something in Kageyama’s voice—raw, vulnerable, hungry—that pinned her in place. 'You’re an idiot,' she muttered, wiping her tears with the back of her hand, her voice softer now but still edged. 'A complete, horny idiot.'
Kageyama smirked despite herself, taking a tentative step closer. 'Maybe. But I’m your idiot. And you’re still standing here, Shoyo. Why is that?' Her tone dipped, teasing, challenging, as her gaze raked over Hinata’s trembling form.
Hinata’s eyes narrowed, but a flush crept up her neck. 'Don’t get cocky, Tobio. I’m still pissed. But…' She hesitated, her voice dropping to a whisper, 'maybe I’m curious. Just how much do you want me right now?'
The question was a match to gasoline. Kageyama’s breath caught, her body reacting instantly, a hard ache building as she closed the distance between them. 'More than you can imagine,' she growled, her hands hovering near Hinata’s hips, not quite touching, waiting for permission. 'I’m sweating just standing here, trying not to grab you and show you.'
Hinata’s smirk was dangerous, her own desire flickering through the anger. 'Oh, you think you can just take what you want? I’m not some damsel, Tobio. If you want me, you’re gonna have to work for it.' Her voice was a dare, her body leaning just close enough that Kageyama could feel the heat radiating off her.
The challenge sent a shiver down Kageyama’s spine, her pulse racing as she grinned, sharp and predatory. 'Fine by me. I’ve got all night to make you see how much I need you.' Her hand finally brushed against Hinata’s waist, pulling her closer, their breaths mingling as the wind outside roared louder. Hinata’s eyes darkened, her resolve wavering, and Kageyama knew they were teetering on the edge of something explosive.
Their lips were inches apart, the air thick with anticipation, when Hinata’s hand slid up Kageyama’s chest, gripping her shirt. 'Don’t think this means I’ve forgiven you,' she whispered, her voice dripping with defiance, even as her body pressed closer, wet heat building between them. 'But I’m gonna make you beg for it.'
Kageyama’s low chuckle was pure sin. 'Bring it on, Shoyo.'
