The evening air was thick with the scent of amber as Serena stepped into the dimly lit bar. Her heels clicked confidently against the polished wooden floor, drawing the attention of every patron. She was a vision of control, her dark hair cascading over her shoulders in waves, and her eyes, sharp and assessing, missed nothing.
She spotted him immediately. Ryan, sitting alone at the bar, nursing a drink that looked as bored as he did. Serena's lips curved into a smirk as she approached him, her hips swaying with purpose.
"Looks like you could use some company," she purred, sliding onto the stool next to him. Her voice was like velvet, commanding yet inviting.
Ryan turned to her, his eyes widening slightly at the sight of her. "I guess I could," he replied, trying to match her cool demeanor but failing slightly. His gaze flickered over her, taking in the low cut of her dress and the confidence that radiated from her.
Serena chuckled softly, leaning closer to him. "You guess? Darling, you don't need to guess when it comes to me. I'm here, and I'm interested. The question is, are you?"
Ryan swallowed, his Adam's apple bobbing nervously. "I... I am," he managed to say, his voice steadier now.
"Good," Serena said, her tone decisive. She signaled the bartender with a flick of her wrist. "Two of whatever he's having," she ordered, then turned back to Ryan with a playful glint in her eye. "So, Ryan, what brings a man like you to a place like this, looking so forlorn?"
Ryan laughed, a sound that seemed to release some of his tension. "Just needed a change of scenery. Work's been killing me."
Serena nodded, her fingers tracing the rim of her glass as it arrived. "Work can do that. But you know what's good for stress?" She paused, letting her gaze lock with his. "A little distraction. And I'm very good at distracting."
"Is that so?" Ryan asked, his interest clearly piqued.
"Oh, absolutely," Serena replied, her voice dropping to a whisper. "I can take your mind off anything. All you need to do is let go and follow my lead."
Ryan's breath hitched slightly, and he nodded, his eyes never leaving hers. "I think I'd like that."
Serena smiled, satisfied. "Then let's start with something simple. Tell me about this work of yours. What do you do that has you looking so deliciously defeated?"
As Ryan began to talk, Serena listened intently, her mind already planning the next steps of her seduction. She knew how to play this game, and tonight, Ryan was hers to command.
