**Chapter 1: The Invitation**
The late afternoon sun spilled through the blinds of my cramped apartment, casting golden stripes across the hardwood floor. I was sprawled on the couch, nursing a beer, when my phone buzzed with a text from Rob. 'Hey Amey, got a wild proposition for you. Meet us at The Blue Lounge tonight. 8 sharp.' My curiosity piqued, I shot back a quick 'See you there' and tossed the phone aside, wondering what kind of trouble Rob was dragging me into this time.
The Blue Lounge was a dimly lit bar with velvet booths and a sultry jazz playlist that clung to the air like a lover’s whisper. I spotted Rob and Nora in a corner booth, their heads bent close, laughing over martinis. Rob, with his easy grin and tousled hair, waved me over. Nora, though—damn, she was a vision. Her crimson dress hugged every curve, the neckline plunging just enough to make my pulse kick. Her dark eyes locked onto mine as I approached, a smirk playing on her lips like she already knew something I didn’t.
“Amey, my man!” Rob clapped me on the shoulder, sliding a drink my way. “Glad you could make it. We’ve got something... unconventional to run by you.”
I raised an eyebrow, sipping the whiskey. “Unconventional is your middle name, Rob. Spill it.”
Nora leaned forward, her voice a low, smoky purr that sent a shiver down my spine. “We’re heading to a beach house in Malibu for a week. Private stretch of sand, ocean views, the works. And we want you to come with us.”
I blinked, caught off guard. “A vacation? With you two? What’s the catch?”
Rob chuckled, exchanging a loaded glance with Nora. “No catch, just... an opportunity. Nora and I have an open marriage. We play by our own rules. And she’s got a little fantasy she’s been dying to explore.”
Nora’s smirk widened, her gaze pinning me to the spot. “Don’t play coy, Amey. I’ve seen the way you look at me. I’m not some blushing damsel waiting to be swept off her feet. I take what I want. And right now, I want to know if you’re game to make this trip unforgettable.”
My throat went dry, the heat of her words curling through me. I leaned back, trying to play it cool even as my mind raced. “And Rob’s just... fine with this?”
Rob shrugged, his grin wicked. “More than fine. I like watching my wife get what she craves. And I trust you, man. So, what do you say? One week, no strings, just pure, unfiltered fun.”
I looked between them, the air thick with unspoken promises. Nora’s foot brushed against my leg under the table, deliberate and teasing, her eyes daring me to say no. My resolve crumbled like sand. “Hell, why not? I could use a break. And I’m not one to turn down a challenge.”
Nora’s laugh was dark and delicious. “Oh, sweetheart, you have no idea what you’re in for. I don’t play nice, and I don’t hold back. By the time we’re done, you’ll be begging for mercy.”
My blood roared at the threat, a smirk tugging at my lips. “Bring it on, Nora. I’m not easily broken.”
Rob raised his glass. “To new adventures, then. Pack light, Amey. Things are gonna get... heated.”
Later that night, as I packed a bag for Malibu, my mind kept drifting to Nora—those piercing eyes, that sharp tongue, the way her presence commanded the room. I could already feel the tension building, the promise of her touch igniting something primal in me. By the time we’d get to that beach house, I knew I’d be hard-pressed to keep my hands off her. And from the way she’d looked at me, I had a feeling she was already dripping with anticipation, ready to claim every inch of me under that California sun.
