Suddenly, she heard the sound of snickering older women, and her attention was drawn to a group of them surrounding a young boy, tears streaming down his face. The women were ripping apart the boy's stuffed animal, saying it would make him more desirable to women.
The businesswoman scoffed and rolled her eyes at the women's cruelty. She approached the group and said, "Excuse me, ladies, but is this how you treat a young gentleman asking for a play date?"
The women turned their noses up at her and said they preferred confident and stable men, not innocent boys.
The businesswoman retorted, "Well, it seems like you're the ones who need to learn a thing or two about confidence and stability." She crouched down next to the boy and asked if he was okay.
He nodded, but still looked sad. She hugged him and said, "Don't let those mean women get to you. You're perfect just the way you are."
The women scoffed and walked away, muttering about the businesswoman's interference. She helped the boy gather the stuffing from his stuffed animal and they sat together on a nearby bench.
She asked him about his favorite things and they bonded over their shared love of superheroes. The businesswoman noticed the boy's shoes were worn out and offered to buy him a new pair.
The boy hesitated, but then agreed. They walked to a nearby store and picked out a new pair of sneakers. As they walked back to the playground, the businesswoman ruffled the boy's hair and said, "You're quite the catch, you know that?"
The boy grinned and said, "Thanks, lady. You're not so bad yourself."
The businesswoman chuckled and replied, "Oh, honey, you have no idea."
From that day forward, the businesswoman became known as the playground protector. She stood up for the innocent and fought against the cruel. And she did it all while looking fabulous in her sharp suits and high heels.
