The hum of the city and the soft clinking of glasses greeted Jane and John as they entered the trendy, upscale bar. Jane, dressed in a sleek black dress that hugged her curves in all the right places, scanned the crowd for their former flame, Sarah.
"Looks like our ex is already here, playing it cool at the bar," Jane said, giving John a playful nudge. She couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement at the prospect of seeing Sarah again. It had been years since they had all been in the same room together.
Sarah, a confident and successful businesswoman, spotted them and made her way over, a hint of amusement in her eyes. "Well, well, well, if it isn't the happy couple," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Jane, never one to back down, shot back, "Yes, it's us, still going strong after all these years. Unlike some people we know."
Sarah raised an eyebrow, "Oh, you mean like how I moved on and up in the world, while you two are still stuck in the same old routine?"
John, trying to diffuse the tension, offered Sarah a drink. "Let's all have a drink and catch up. It's been a long time."
Sarah accepted, but not before taking a jab at Jane, "I'll have whatever you're having, darling. I'm sure it's nothing too fancy for you."
Jane rolled her eyes, but couldn't help but laugh. "You always did have a way with words, Sarah. I'll give you that."
The three of them settled into a booth and the conversation flowed, the sexual tension building as they reminisced about old times and traded playful insults.
Sarah leaned in close to John, her hand resting on his thigh, "Do you remember that time we all spent the weekend at the beach house, Jane? It was so wild."
Jane, not one to be left out, leaned in closer, "Oh, I remember. I also remember how you couldn't keep your hands off of John, even when I was right there."
Sarah, unphased, "Jealous, Jane? Don't worry, I'm sure John still remembers how good I was."
Jane, feeling the heat rise, "I'm sure he does. But I also remember how he came running back to me every time."
Sarah, her eyes locked on John's, "I'm sure he did. But I also remember how he begged for more."
John, feeling the heat rise, "I think it's time for us to leave, Jane. This has been fun, but I think we've had enough catching up for one night."
Jane, smiling, "Of course, John. I think you're right. But I'll be sure to remind you of this little reunion the next time Sarah comes crawling back."
Sarah, standing up, "Don't worry, Jane. I'll be sure to remind you too."
The three of them left the bar, the tension still palpable in the air. Jane and John walked home, their hands intertwined, the memory of Sarah still fresh in their minds.
Jane, looking up at John, "You know, I'm glad we're still together. Despite everything."
John, smiling, "Me too, Jane. Me too."
As they walked, Jane couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. She had always been the one in control, the one calling the shots. And even though Sarah had tried to come between them, Jane knew that she and John were stronger than ever.
"You know, I'm glad we came tonight," Jane said, her voice husky with desire. "It's been a long time since we've had a little excitement in our lives."
John, his eyes dark with desire, "You're right, Jane. It's been too long."
As they reached their apartment, Jane turned to John, her eyes shining with desire. "I want you, John. Right now."
John, his voice low and rough, "You've got me, Jane. Always."
And with that, they stumbled inside, ready to lose themselves in each other and forget about their ex for the night.
