The Campfire at Camp Half-Blood
Percy Jackson, the camp's resident hero, was hunched over a worn-out textbook, his brow furrowed in concentration. The other campers were engaged in lively conversations, but Percy's struggle with a history problem had drawn their attention.
"Who was the father of the Fates?" Percy muttered under his breath, frustration creeping into his voice.
A sudden voice cut through the night air. "Their father is Kronos, god of time."
The campers turned to see a new arrival at the camp, Isabela, who confidently provided the correct answer. Percy and the others stared at her in awe, the firelight dancing in her dark eyes.
Percy, impressed by Isabela's wisdom, suggested, "Maybe you're a child of Athena, the goddess of wisdom."
Isabela's eyes widened as an hourglass symbol appeared above her head, signifying her divine parentage. A mysterious voice boomed, "You have been claimed by Kronos, god of time. All hail Isabela Garcia, daughter of Kronos!"
The campers exchanged puzzled glances, wondering what the hourglass symbol meant. Leo Valdez, the camp's resident mechanic, quipped, "Well, that's a new one. I've seen a pine tree, a dolphin, and even a pair of wings, but never an hourglass."
Piper McLean, a daughter of Aphrodite, playfully teased, "Looks like you're on the fast track to adulthood, Isabela. Better enjoy your last few hours as a tween!"
Annabeth Chase, a daughter of Athena, raised an eyebrow and asked, "How have you never heard of the hourglass symbol, Leo? It's been around for centuries."
Leo shrugged, "Must've missed that chapter in my Greek mythology textbook. I was too busy building flamethrowers."
Nico di Angelo, a son of Hades, looked thoughtful and said, "Kronos... The Titan king. He was defeated by Zeus and imprisoned in Tartarus."
Isabela, sensing the tension, tried to lighten the mood by saying, "Well, at least I didn't get claimed by a god of war or something. I can't imagine having to deal with constant battles and stuff."
Will Solace, a son of Apollo, chuckled and replied, "Don't worry, Isabela. As a child of Kronos, your power will likely be related to time manipulation. You might not have to fight as much as the rest of us."
Reyna Ramírez-Arellano, a daughter of Bellona, nodded in agreement and said, "Just be careful, Isabela. Kronos was a powerful and dangerous foe. His influence can be corrupting."
Isabela, determined and confident, looked around the campfire and said, "I won't let you down, Camp Half-Blood. I'll make you proud to have a child of Kronos among you."
The campfire crackled, and the night wore on, but the campers couldn't help but feel a mix of awe, curiosity, and apprehension about the newest addition to their family. The hourglass of surprise had brought a new adventure to Camp Half-Blood, and they were all eager to see what the sands of time would reveal.
