The train compartment was filled to the brim, the air thick with the scent of sweat and anticipation. Sunita, Ankit's mother, fidgeted in her seat, her mind racing with a thousand thoughts. She had never been one for confined spaces, and the close proximity of her fellow passengers only added to her discomfort.
Ashok, Ankit's uncle, attempted to make small talk, but Sunita brushed him off with a playful insult. "Ashok, my dear, I didn't know you had such a way with words. If only you could use it for something other than trying to woo every woman you meet."
Mamta, Ankit's aunt, scolded Ashok for his behavior. "Really, Ashok, you have no shame. Can't you see Sunita is uncomfortable? Have some respect for her status as a widow."
Ashok, realizing his faux pas, apologized to Sunita. "I'm sorry, Sunita. I didn't mean to offend you. I was only trying to lighten the mood."
Mamta, satisfied with Ashok's apology, changed the subject. "Ankit, what are you looking at out the window? You've been lost in thought for miles."
Ankit hesitated before revealing his worries. "I'm just thinking about Mom's inability to conceive again. It's been so long, and I know she's worried about it."
Sunita reassured Ankit, telling him that they would find a solution together. "Don't worry, Ankit. We'll figure something out. I promise."
Ashok overheard the conversation and offered a controversial solution. "Why don't you consider finding a new husband, Sunita? It would solve all your problems."
Sunita was taken aback by Ashok's suggestion but quickly regained her composure. "Ashok, I can't believe you would suggest such a thing. I'm a widow, not a piece of meat to be passed around."
Mamta scolded Ashok for his insensitivity. "Really, Ashok, you have no shame. Can't you see how hurtful that suggestion is?"
Sunita, trying to lighten the mood, made a playful jab at Ashok. "Well, Ashok, if I were to find a new husband, I would make sure he was at least as charming as you."
Ashok, realizing his faux pas, apologized to Sunita. "I'm sorry, Sunita. I didn't mean to offend you. I was only trying to help."
The group engaged in small talk for the remainder of the train ride, but Sunita's mind was elsewhere. She wondered what the future held for her and Ankit. Was finding a new husband really the solution? She wasn't sure, but one thing was certain - she would never let anyone else control her fate.
