Tides of Temptation

Chapter 1: Waves of Desire

The sun dipped low over the horizon, casting a golden sheen across the sprawling estate I now called my kingdom. My father’s empire was mine, every brick, every deal, every whispered secret. And in the midst of it all, there was Aunt Vivienne—sharp-tongued, statuesque, and utterly untouchable. Or so I’d thought.

I leaned against the mahogany banister of the grand staircase, watching her move through the foyer below. Her crimson dress hugged every curve, a deliberate taunt, as if she knew my eyes had been tracing her for months. I’d felt the heat of her skin under my fingertips during 'accidental' brushes—passing in the hallway, reaching for the same glass at dinner. She never flinched, never scolded. Her silence was louder than any protest.

'Vivienne,' I called, my voice smooth as the whiskey in my glass. She paused, turning with a look that could cut glass. 'I’ve got plans for the weekend. A little escape on the yacht. Three days, just the open sea. I want you there.'

Her eyes narrowed, lips curling into a smirk that was equal parts danger and allure. 'Do you now, nephew? And what makes you think I’d abandon my precious routine to play deckhand for you?'

I descended the stairs, closing the distance between us, my grin matching her challenge. 'Because, dear aunt, I know you’re bored out of your mind here. And I’ve seen the way you look at the ocean from the terrace—like you’re itching to conquer it. Or something else.' My tone dipped, suggestive, testing her.

She laughed, a low, throaty sound that sent a jolt straight through me. 'Careful, boy. I’ve tamed bigger beasts than you. But fine, I’ll humor you. Let’s see if you can handle a real storm.' Her gaze flicked over me, assessing, daring. I felt my pulse quicken, the air between us crackling with unspoken promises.

That night, I found her in the library, poring over a map of the coastline. Her hair fell in dark waves over her shoulder, and the lamplight caught the fire in her eyes. I stepped closer, the scent of her jasmine perfume wrapping around me like a vice.

'Plotting our course, or planning my demise?' I teased, leaning over her shoulder, my breath grazing her neck.

She didn’t pull away. Instead, she tilted her head, giving me a sidelong glance that could’ve melted steel. 'If I wanted you gone, darling, you’d already be overboard. I’m just making sure you don’t get us lost. I’m not in the mood to play damsel.'

'Good,' I murmured, my hand brushing hers as I pointed to a secluded cove on the map. 'Because I’ve got no intention of saving anyone. I’m more interested in… exploring.' My fingers lingered, and I saw her breath hitch, just for a moment.

Her lips parted, a retort on the tip of her tongue, but she held it. Instead, she stood, her body brushing against mine as she turned to face me. We were inches apart now, the heat between us a living thing. 'You’re playing a dangerous game, kid,' she warned, her voice a velvet blade. 'I don’t lose.'

I smirked, stepping closer, my hand finding the small of her back. 'Neither do I.'

The tension snapped like a taut wire. Her eyes darkened, and before I could say another word, her hand gripped my collar, pulling me in. Our lips crashed together, hungry, fierce, a collision of want and defiance. My hands roamed, sliding down her hips, feeling the strength in her frame as she pressed against me, unyielding, commanding. I could feel myself growing hard, the ache for her almost painful, and I knew she felt it too—her breath was sharp, her body responding with a heat that matched mine.

We stumbled back against the bookshelf, maps and papers scattering to the floor. Her nails dug into my shoulders, a silent demand, and I growled against her mouth, ready to tear through every barrier between us. The weekend on the yacht couldn’t come soon enough. I was already drowning in her, and we hadn’t even left shore.
