Triad of Desire

Triad of Desire

Chapter 1: The Proposition

I never thought a decade with Sarah would lead us here, sitting in our cozy living room, the air thick with a tension I couldn’t quite name. The amber glow of the lamp cast shadows over her sharp cheekbones as she leaned forward, her hazel eyes glinting with a mix of mischief and determination. My Sarah, always the strategist, always ten steps ahead.

‘Alex, hear me out before you say anything,’ she started, her voice low, almost a purr. ‘Ema’s been over for coffee this morning, and… well, she’s lonely. She wants a family, just like we’ve been talking about. But she’s not found the right person since that bastard broke her heart.’

I raised an eyebrow, sipping my beer, the cold bottle a stark contrast to the heat creeping up my neck. ‘Okay, and? What’s this got to do with us?’

Sarah smirked, that dangerous, knowing smirk that always meant trouble—or something insanely hot. ‘I proposed something to her. A way for all of us to get what we want. A triad. You, me, and Ema. We build a family together.’

I nearly choked on my drink. ‘A triad? As in… all three of us? Together?’ My mind raced, picturing Ema—tall, fierce, with curves that could stop traffic and a laugh that could melt steel. I’d always noticed her, sure, but I’d never let myself linger on the thought. Not with Sarah by my side.

‘Don’t play coy, Alex,’ Sarah teased, sliding closer on the couch, her hand resting on my thigh, fingers tracing lazy circles. ‘I’ve seen the way you look at her when she’s around. And I’m not jealous. I’m intrigued. I want this. I want *us* to have this.’

My pulse quickened under her touch, and I couldn’t help but grin. ‘You’re serious? You’re not just fucking with me?’

‘Oh, I’m serious,’ she whispered, her lips brushing my ear, sending a shiver down my spine. ‘And Ema’s in. She’s been thinking about it for hours, and she’s coming over tonight to… discuss.’

Before I could respond, the doorbell rang. Sarah’s grin widened as she stood, smoothing her tight black dress that hugged every inch of her like a second skin. ‘Speak of the devil,’ she muttered, sauntering to the door.

Ema stepped in, her presence commanding the room. Her dark hair fell in waves over her shoulders, and her leather jacket did little to hide the confidence in her stride. ‘Hey, Alex,’ she said, her voice smooth as silk, her eyes locking onto mine with an intensity that made my breath catch. ‘Sarah filled you in, I assume?’

I nodded, trying to keep my cool. ‘Yeah, she did. It’s… unexpected, but I’m not saying no.’

Ema chuckled, shedding her jacket to reveal a low-cut top that left little to the imagination. ‘Good. Because I don’t do half-measures. If we’re doing this, we’re doing it right.’

Sarah returned, a bottle of wine and three glasses in hand. ‘Let’s toast to new beginnings, shall we?’ she said, pouring with a wicked gleam in her eye. We clinked glasses, the air between us crackling with unspoken promises.

As the night wore on, the conversation turned from tentative to teasing. Ema leaned in, her hand brushing mine. ‘So, Alex, you think you can handle two women who know exactly what they want?’

I smirked, feeling the heat of Sarah’s gaze on me. ‘I’m game if you are. Question is, can you keep up?’

Sarah laughed, her hand sliding up my back. ‘Oh, he’s got stamina, Ema. Trust me. But I think we should test that theory.’

The room seemed to shrink, the space between us charged with raw, hungry energy. Ema’s eyes darkened, and she bit her lip, leaning closer. ‘Then let’s not waste any more time talking.’

Sarah’s fingers tightened on my shoulder as she pulled me toward her, her lips crashing into mine with a ferocity that set my blood on fire. I felt Ema’s hand on my chest, her touch bold and unapologetic, and I knew this was just the beginning of something wild, something unstoppable.
