The local park, abandoned and quiet in the late afternoon. The playground, usually teeming with children’s laughter and energy, now lay still and empty. That was, except for a lone figure laying on the ground, naked and trembling.
As the camera drew closer, it was revealed to be Goten, shrunk down to the size of a doll. His eyes darted around in confusion and fear, trying to make sense of his new size and surroundings. He attempted to stand up, but his legs gave out from under him.
Suddenly, a group of teenage boys approached the playground, laughing and joking around. They were the local troublemakers, known as “The Three Stooges” of the park: Jake, the leader; Max, the muscle; and Billy, the brains.
Jake, the first to spot Goten, stopped in his tracks. “Well, what do we have here?” he said, a smirk playing on his lips as he approached the tiny figure. Max and Billy followed, their curiosity piqued.
Goten struggled in Jake’s grip, trying to break free. “Let me go, you big bully!” he yelled, trying to sound brave.
Max and Billy laughed at Goten’s attempts to escape. “Looks like we found ourselves a living doll,” Max said, poking Goten’s belly.
Goten swatted Max’s hand away. “I’m not a doll, I’m a person! Put me down!”
Billy leaned in closer, examining Goten. “Interesting. He’s definitely not a doll, but he’s definitely not human-sized either.”
Jake tossed Goten in the air, catching him in his other hand. “Well, whatever he is, he’s ours now. Let’s have some fun with him.”
Goten glared at Jake. “I’m not going to be your toy. Let me go!”
Jake chuckled. “Oh, I like this one. He’s got spirit. We’ll have to break that, of course.”
Max and Billy nodded in agreement, as they started to come up with ideas on how to “break” Goten’s spirit.
Goten’s mind raced as he tried to think of a way to escape. He noticed a nearby toy box and got an idea.
He started to struggle and wiggle, trying to break free from Jake’s grip. “Let me go, you oaf! I’m not going to be your plaything!”
Jake tightened his grip, amused by Goten’s attempts to escape. “Oh, I like this one. He’s got fire. We’ll have to put that out.”
Goten knew he had to act fast. He summoned all his strength, and with one final push, he broke free from Jake’s grip and made a run for the toy box.
The boys watched in surprise as Goten disappeared into the box. Jake shook his head and laughed. “Well, I guess that’s one way to escape.”
But Goten had no intention of staying in the toy box. He rummaged through it, searching for something to help him. And that’s when he found it – a tiny key.
With a determined look on his face, Goten inserted the key into an imaginary lock and turned it. “I’m not a doll, and I’m not going to be anyone’s toy,” he whispered to himself.
As the boys walked away, Goten emerged from the toy box, ready to take on whatever came next. He may have been small, but he was strong, controlling, and direct. And he was determined to make sure no one ever underestimated him again.
