Triton's Tribute: When Hephaestus and Poseidon Got More Than They Bargained For from Medusa's Mysterious Twins

The workshop of Hephaestus, the god of fire and metalworking, was always filled with the smell of burning metal and the heat of the flames. On this particular day, the workshop was bustling with activity as Hephaestus put the finishing touches on a new trident for Poseidon, the god of the sea.

Hephaestus, with his dark brown hair and tan skin, was a master of his craft. He had a strong and sturdy build, the result of years of working with heavy metals and fire. As he handed the sealed envelope to Poseidon, he couldn't help but notice the curiosity in the other god's blue eyes.

"What's this?" Poseidon asked, his eyes scanning the envelope.

Hephaestus shrugged, "It's a letter from Medusa. She wanted you to have it."

Poseidon rolled his eyes and made a move to throw it into the fire. But Hephaestus was quick to step in.

"Hold on, it might be important," Hephaestus said, his voice steady.

Poseidon raised an eyebrow, "Medusa? Important? I doubt it."

Hephaestus opened the letter, his eyes scanning the contents. Poseidon, growing impatient, grabbed the letter from Hephaestus's hands. As he read the letter, his face turned serious.

"Three thousand dollars a month?" Poseidon exclaimed, throwing the letter down in disbelief.

Hephaestus picked up the letter, "Yes, that's what it says."

Poseidon scoffed, "And why exactly do I have to pay?"

Hephaestus looked at him, a playful insult on the tip of his tongue. "Well, you did knock her up."

Poseidon glared at him, "Watch it, Hephaestus."

Hephaestus grinned, "Just stating the facts, my lord."

Poseidon grumbled, "I can't believe this. I have to pay for the twins she had? And why me? Why not that other god she was with?"

Hephaestus raised an eyebrow, "You mean, Zeus?"

Poseidon nodded, "Yes, him. Why not make him pay?"

Hephaestus shrugged, "Medusa has her reasons. She wants you to take responsibility for your actions."

Poseidon scoffed, "Responsibility? I have no time for responsibility. I am the god of the sea, I have more important things to do."

Hephaestus looked at him, his eyes narrowed. "You may be the god of the sea, but you are also a father. And as a father, it is your responsibility to take care of your children."

Poseidon growled, "I don't need a lecture from you, Hephaestus."

Hephaestus held up his hands, "I'm just saying, my lord. You should consider what Medusa is asking. It's not too much to ask for."

Poseidon sighed, "Fine. I'll think about it. But I'm not making any promises."

Hephaestus nodded, "That's all I can ask for, my lord."

As Poseidon left the workshop, Hephaestus couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. He had always admired Medusa for her strength and determination. And he was glad that she was finally getting the recognition and support she deserved.

The end.
