Hephaestus's workshop was a sight to behold. Nestled by the beach, the place was a chaotic blend of fire, metal, and innovation. It was here that Hephaestus, the god of fire and metalworking, often met with Poseidon, the god of the sea, to discuss various matters.
On this particular day, Hephaestus handed Poseidon an envelope with a smirk. "You won't believe who this is from," he said, his dark brown hair and tanned skin glowing in the firelight.
Poseidon rolled his eyes, his ocean-blue eyes meeting Hephaestus's. "Let me guess, another one of your ex-girlfriends wanting something?"
Hephaestus chuckled, the sound echoing off the workshop walls. "Nope, this time it's from Medusa. You remember her, right? The one with the snake hair and eyes that could turn you to stone?"
Poseidon tried to hide his curiosity, but Hephaestus saw it flicker in his eyes. "Just burn the letter," Poseidon said, but Hephaestus opened it instead.
As Hephaestus read the letter, his eyes widened, and he started laughing. "You're not going to believe this," he told Poseidon.
Poseidon, growing impatient, grabbed the letter from Hephaestus and started reading it. His eyes scanned the page, and his face turned into a mix of shock and annoyance.
The letter informed Poseidon that Medusa had given birth to twins, a boy and a girl, both with black hair and green eyes.
Poseidon handed the letter back to Hephaestus, his eyes narrowed. "Why the hell do I need to know this?"
Hephaestus grinned, his teeth gleaming in the firelight. "Because, my friend, Medusa needs child support from you. Three thousand dollars a month, to be exact."
Poseidon scoffed, his sea-blue eyes meeting Hephaestus's. "You've got to be kidding me. I'm not paying a cent for those monsters."
Hephaestus chuckled, the sound echoing off the workshop walls. "Well, you don't have a choice. Medusa has a way of getting what she wants."
Poseidon glared at Hephaestus, his eyes turning stormy. "Watch yourself, or I'll turn you into a fish and throw you back into the sea."
Hephaestus laughed, the sound filling the workshop. "Good luck with that. I'm not exactly easy to catch."
Poseidon, trying to change the subject, asked Hephaestus about his latest project. Hephaestus happily started talking about the new weapon he was creating, but his mind was still on the envelope of unexpected news. He couldn't help but smile at the thought of Poseidon having to pay child support to Medusa. He knew it was going to be an interesting situation, and he couldn't wait to see how it played out.
