Hephaestus, with his dark brown hair and tan skin, handed the envelope to Poseidon, the god of the sea, who looked at it with curiosity. "What's this?" Poseidon asked, his blue eyes scanning the envelope.
"It's a letter from Medusa," Hephaestus replied, his tone casual.
Poseidon rolled his eyes, "Just burn it. I don't have time for her dramas."
Hephaestus chuckled, "I wish it was that easy. You might want to take a look at this." He opened the envelope and began to read the letter.
Poseidon grabbed the letter from Hephaestus, his expression changing to surprise as he read it. "Medusa had twins?" Poseidon exclaimed, "A boy and a girl?"
Hephaestus nodded, "Yes, and it seems like you need to pay child support."
Poseidon's eyes widened, "Three thousand dollars a month?!"
Hephaestus grinned, "Looks like it."
Poseidon scoffed, "That snake-haired witch can't expect me to foot the bill for her mistakes."
Hephaestus raised an eyebrow, "Well, it seems like she does. And the court agrees."
Poseidon crumpled the letter in his hand, "Fine. I'll pay. But I'm not happy about it."
Hephaestus chuckled, "I didn't think you would be."
Poseidon glared at Hephaestus, "And stop laughing. It's not funny."
Hephaestus held up his hands in surrender, "Alright, alright. I'll stop. But you should know, Medusa is not a woman to be trifled with. She's strong, controlling, and direct. She's not one to back down from a fight, and she's certainly not one to let someone else take care of her responsibilities."
Poseidon sighed, "I know. I just didn't expect this. I've always thought of her as just a monster."
Hephaestus shook his head, "She's more than that. She's a mother, and she's fighting for her children. You should respect that."
Poseidon nodded, "You're right. I'll make sure to send the payment. And I'll try to be more understanding of Medusa in the future."
Hephaestus clapped Poseidon on the back, "That's the spirit. Now, let's get back to work. I have a trident to finish for you."
As Poseidon left the workshop, Hephaestus couldn't help but smile. Medusa may have been a surprise, but she was a welcome one. He looked forward to meeting her and her twins in person.
