The workshop of Hephaestus, the god of fire and metalwork, was always filled with the smell of smoke and the heat of forge. It was a place of creation and destruction, a place where the most intricate and beautiful works of art were brought to life. But on this particular day, the workshop was filled with something else entirely: tension.
Hephaestus, a man of dark brown hair and tanned skin, stood before Poseidon, the god of the sea, who looked at him with suspicion. In Hephaestus's hand was a sealed envelope, which he now extended towards Poseidon.
"What's this?" Poseidon asked, his blue eyes scanning the envelope with suspicion.
Hephaestus shrugged, "It's a letter from Medusa. She wanted me to deliver it to you."
Poseidon rolled his eyes, "Ugh, what does that gorgon want now?"
Hephaestus chuckled, "I don't know, but you might want to open it."
Poseidon grumbled, taking the envelope from Hephaestus and tearing it open. As he read the letter, his face turned to shock, "What the... Hephaestus, you better take a look at this."
Hephaestus took the letter and read it, his eyes widening as he realized what it was - child support. "Medusa had twins?" Hephaestus asked, disbelief in his voice.
Poseidon nodded, "Yes, a boy and a girl. And I have to pay 3000 dollars a month for their support."
Hephaestus couldn't help but laugh, "Well, I guess that's one way to get back at you for all those times you turned me down."
Poseidon glared at Hephaestus, "This is no laughing matter. I can't afford this."
Hephaestus raised an eyebrow, "Can't afford it? You're the god of the sea, I think you can manage."
Poseidon grumbled, "It's the principle of the matter. I shouldn't have to pay for someone else's children."
Hephaestus chuckled, "Well, I guess you're stuck with it. Medusa can be quite... persuasive when she wants something."
Poseidon scoffed, "I'll have to have a word with her about this. I can't just let her take my money like this."
Hephaestus shrugged, "It's not my place to say. But I would tread carefully if I were you. Medusa is not a woman to be trifled with."
Poseidon grumbled, "I know that. But this is just ridiculous. I can't believe she would do something like this."
Hephaestus chuckled, "Well, believe it. And I would start making those payments if I were you. I don't think Medusa would take kindly to being ignored."
Poseidon sighed, "I know. I'll take care of it. But this is the last time I do a favor for that gorgon."
Hephaestus laughed, "I wouldn't be so sure about that. Medusa has a way of getting what she wants. And I have a feeling this is just the beginning."
Poseidon rolled his eyes and stormed out of the workshop, leaving Hephaestus to chuckle to himself. "Well, that was certainly an interesting surprise. I can't wait to see what Medusa has in store next."
