Two Years in a Treehouse: The Unconventional Motherhood of June Bonus: Here's a short opening scene to give you a taste of the story's humor and style: --- June's parents stared at the baby in disbelief as she gently pulled back the blanket. Meet your granddaughter, Mom and Dad, she said, beaming. Her mother was the first to recover. You had a baby...in a treehouse? June shrugged. Well, it's not like the local maternity ward was an option. And who's the father? her father asked, still looking stunned. June grinned at Jake, who stood nervously by her side. Oh, just our resident orphan and co-parenting extraordinaire. Jake blushed, and Quint and Deirk snickered from behind the group. And how did you manage to feed and bathe her? her mother asked, recovering her composure. June winked. Let's just say the local wildlife was very cooperative. Her parents exchanged a worried glance, but June just laughed. Don't worry, she's been well taken care of. Now, let's get her checked out at the hospital and then we can all go home. As they walked to the car, her father couldn't resist one more question. And what's your plan now, June? You're only sixteen. June smiled confidently. Oh, Dad, I've got this. I've been taking care of myself and a baby for two years. I think I can handle whatever comes next.

Chapter One: The Surprise of a Lifetime

June sprinted up to her mom and dad, her eyes sparkling with excitement. After two long years of being apart, they were finally reunited. Her mom, Susan, enveloped her in a tight hug, tears welling up in her eyes. Her dad, Tom, stood back, a proud smile on his face.

"Hey, kiddo. It's good to see you," he said, his voice gruff with emotion.

June pulled away, her eyes darting nervously around the backyard. "Can we go somewhere private?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Susan and Tom exchanged a curious glance, but followed June as she led them towards the treehouse in the back corner of the yard. As they climbed the ladder, Tom's curiosity grew. He had no idea what could be so important that June needed to discuss it in a treehouse.

When they reached the top, Tom's eyes widened in shock. There, in the middle of the treehouse, was a makeshift bed with a bundle of blankets on top. And inside those blankets was a baby girl, sleeping peacefully.

Susan gasped, her hand flying to her mouth. "June, what is this?" she asked, her voice trembling with emotion.

June took a deep breath, her eyes meeting her parents'. "This is my daughter," she said, her voice steady and calm.

Tom and Susan were stunned. They had no idea June was even pregnant, let alone a mother. But June remained calm and collected, answering their flurry of questions with ease.

She explained how she had given birth in the treehouse, with only Jake, Quint, and Deirk by her side. She described the makeshift birthing process, leaving out no detail. Tom and Susan were in awe of her strength and resilience.

"But where is the baby's father?" Tom asked, his brow furrowed with concern.

June looked at Jake, who nodded, confirming that he was the father. Tom and Susan were surprised, but supportive. They knew June was strong and capable, and they had no doubt she would be an amazing mother.

June explained how she had managed to feed and bathe the baby, with the help of her friends. Tom and Susan were impressed by her resourcefulness. They asked about her plan now that she was a young mother, and June had a solid plan.

They all headed to the hospital for a check-up, June holding the baby close, proud of what she had accomplished. In the examination room, the doctor asked how June had delivered the baby on her own. She smirked, "I'm tougher than I look."

The doctor was impressed, and Tom and Susan were beaming with pride. They knew she would be an amazing mother. June looked at her baby, feeling a love she had never known before. She knew that no matter what, she would always protect her.

Her parents, Jake, Quint, and Deirk stood by her side, ready to support her in any way they could. June knew she wasn't alone, and that she had a strong group of people behind her.

She smiled, feeling a sense of peace and happiness she hadn't felt in a long time. She was ready to start this new chapter in her life.

"Welcome to the family, little one," Tom said, a tear rolling down his cheek.

June looked at her daughter, feeling a love she had never known before. She knew that no matter what, she would always protect her.

"I'm tougher than I look," she whispered, a smile playing on her lips.

And with that, she knew she was ready to take on anything life threw her way.
