Unwound Desires

Unwound Desires

Chapter 1: Midnight Tensions

Lexus Vang—Lexi, as she preferred—was a tightly wound coil of nerves. It was late, far past the hour she’d normally be sprawled face-down on her bed, dead to the world after a grueling day. But tonight, sleep was a distant fantasy. Their group’s showcase loomed on the horizon, and her focus was slipping through her fingers like sand. Too many distractions. Too many… feelings. And one of them had a name: Camila.

‘Girl, you okay?’ Camila’s voice, smooth as honey, cut through the haze of Lexi’s spiraling thoughts. She was perched on the couch beside Lexi in their shared dorm, her dark eyes glinting with concern—and something else Lexi couldn’t quite name. Or maybe didn’t want to.

Lexi jolted, her heart doing a little flip. ‘Yeah, I’m fine. Just… can’t sleep.’

‘Me too.’ Camila slid closer, her thigh brushing against Lexi’s. The contact was electric, and Lexi cursed herself for being so damn obvious. ‘Practice was brutal today, huh? You were killing it, though. That spin move? Lethal.’

Lexi forced a laugh, her cheeks heating. ‘Thanks. You weren’t so bad yourself, Mrs. Vang.’ She cringed internally at the callback to Camila’s teasing comment during that interview—claiming they were ‘married’ with matching last names. God, why did she bring that up?

Camila grinned, her gaze sharpening. ‘Oh, so we’re still on that? Careful, Lexi, I might start thinking you liked the idea.’

Lexi’s brain short-circuited. ‘I—uh—no, I mean—’ She groaned, dropping her face into her hands. ‘I’m a mess. Ignore me.’

‘Kinda hard to ignore you when you’re this cute.’ Camila’s tone dipped, playful but with an edge that made Lexi’s stomach twist. ‘You’re too tense, babe.’

‘I know,’ Lexi muttered, dragging her hands down her face. ‘It’s annoying. I hate feeling like this.’

Camila tilted her head, a mischievous spark in her eyes. ‘I think I know what would help.’

Lexi blinked, curiosity piqued despite herself. ‘What is it?’

‘Wait here.’ Camila stood, tossing a wink over her shoulder as she disappeared into her bedroom. Lexi sighed, leaning her head back against the couch, hands covering her face again. Whatever it was, she’d take it. Maybe it could numb these stupid, inconvenient feelings too. Camila had studied to be a nurse, after all—Lexi trusted her more than anyone.

Moments later, Camila returned, holding a small pouch. She stood in the doorway, beckoning Lexi closer with a crooked finger. Lexi scrambled to her feet, practically tripping over herself to close the distance. ‘Please don’t tell me that’s weed.’

Camila gasped dramatically, clutching her chest. ‘I would never. I love myself too much for that.’

‘Then what is—’

‘Take my room tonight, and enjoy.’ Camila handed her the pouch with a sly wink, then spun them around, pushing Lexi toward her bedroom door and shutting it behind her—leaving herself on the outside.

Lexi stood in Camila’s room, dumbfounded. ‘What the fuck?’ She tried to open the door, but Camila slammed it shut again from the other side. They repeated the dance—open, close, open, close—until Lexi snapped, ‘Camila. What. Are. You. Doing?’

‘This will be good for you,’ Camila called through the door, her voice dripping with amusement.

‘At least tell me what it is first!’

‘You’re a big girl, Lexi. You’ll figure it out.’

Lexi’s fingers tightened around the pouch, feeling something small and round inside. Her breath hitched as realization dawned, heat pooling between her legs. She’d touched herself before, sure, but never with… assistance. And to think Camila had used this very thing? Goosebumps prickled her skin, her nipples hardening under her thin shirt. She glanced down, mortified, only to catch Camila’s gaze through the cracked door—locked on her chest.

A surge of courage hit her, the kind she felt right before stepping on stage. Lexi grabbed Camila’s wrist, yanked her inside, and thrust the pouch back into her hands. ‘Teach me how to use it.’

Camila’s jaw dropped, her cheeks flushing even in the dim light. ‘Are you crazy?’

Lexi’s heart thundered, but before embarrassment could drown her, Camila’s voice softened. ‘Are you sure?’

Lexi nodded, slow and deliberate. They moved to the bed, sitting side by side, the air thick with tension. Lexi’s hands fidgeted in her lap, nerves buzzing. She noticed Camila’s fingers twitching too—a rare crack in her confident facade.

‘Heh, now you’re the one who’s too tense,’ Lexi teased, her voice shaky.

Camila’s head snapped toward her. ‘Shut up.’ Then, in a swift motion, she pushed Lexi down onto the bed and straddled her thighs. Her eyes were wide, almost startled, but hungry. Lexi propped herself on her elbows, her breath uneven. ‘What now?’

Camila leaned down, bypassing Lexi’s lips to press soft kisses along her cheek, jaw, and neck. Lexi’s breath caught as Camila’s mouth found the sensitive spot just beneath her jaw, sending a jolt straight down her spine. ‘Cami…’ she whispered, barely audible.

Camila paused, hands braced on either side of Lexi’s shoulders. ‘What? Backing out now?’

‘No… no. Just… didn’t think you’d actually—’ Her words dissolved as Camila sucked on her neck, nipping and licking. ‘Too late now. You’re mine tonight.’

Lexi trembled, her body betraying her cool exterior. Camila’s confidence was a mask—she could feel her shaking too. But damn, the way she looked, like she was ready to devour her? Lexi gulped, liking the thought way too much.
