As she watched him, her mind wandered to Gabriel, the man who had captured her heart. She couldn't help but think of the way his hands felt in her hair as they made love the night before. The memory made her shiver with desire, and she ran her fingers through her hair, imagining it was his touch.
Mikey looked up at her, his blue eyes sparkling with mischief. "Davina, will you play with me?" he asked, his voice full of excitement.
She smiled at him, pushing her longing for Gabriel to the back of her mind. "Of course, sweetheart," she said, getting up from the couch and ruffling his hair.
As they played, Davina's mind kept wandering back to Gabriel. She couldn't help but wonder if he loved her. She had never been one to express her feelings openly, but she knew she had to ask him. She had to know.
The door to the living room opened, and Gabriel walked in. He was dressed in a sharp suit, his white hair perfectly styled. He saw Davina and Mikey playing and a small smile appeared on his face. "Looks like you two are having fun," he said, his voice smooth and deep.
Davina stood up, her green eyes meeting Gabriel's blue ones. "Can we talk, Gabriel?" she asked, her voice steady despite the nerves that were coursing through her.
Gabriel raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Of course, Davina. What's on your mind?"
She took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. "I just... I need to know. Do you love me?"
Gabriel's expression didn't change, but Davina could see a flicker of something in his eyes. "Why do you ask, Davina?"
She crossed her arms over her chest, trying to appear strong even though she felt vulnerable. "Because I need to know. I can't keep doing this if you don't love me."
Gabriel stepped closer to her, his eyes never leaving hers. "And what is 'this' that you're doing, Davina?"
She rolled her eyes, annoyed by his playful insult. "You know what I mean, Gabriel. Us. This... arrangement."
He chuckled and reached out to touch her face, his thumb tracing her cheek. "Davina, I think you know the answer to your question."
She looked up at him, her heart racing. "Do I?"
He leaned down and whispered in her ear, his breath hot against her skin. "Yes, you do."
And with that, Davina knew that Gabriel loved her. She could see it in his eyes, feel it in the way he touched her. And she loved him too. She loved the way he made her feel, the way he made her heart race. She loved the way he made her feel alive.
"I love you too, Gabriel," she whispered, her voice barely above a whisper.
He smiled at her, his blue eyes filled with warmth. "I'm glad, Davina. I'm so glad."
And with that, they knew that their love was real. And they would do anything to protect it.
As they stood there, Mikey came running over to them, his toys forgotten. "Are you two okay?" he asked, his blue eyes filled with concern.
Davina smiled down at him, her heart overflowing with love. "Yes, sweetheart. We're better than okay."
Gabriel ruffled Mikey's hair, his eyes never leaving Davina's. "Yes, we are."
And with that, they went back to their playing, their love strong and true.
