"My lady, the doctor is here. Shall I send him in?" a servant asked, rushing into the room with a look of concern etched on her face.
Athena nodded, gritting her teeth as another contraction hit. "Yes, send him in."
The doctor, a portly man with a kind face, entered the room, his brow furrowed as he took in the sight of Athena in labor. "Goddess Athena, I presume? I am Doctor Poseidon. I understand you are in need of my services?"
Athena glared at him, her grey eyes flashing with annoyance. "Yes, I am in need of your services, Doctor. I would appreciate it if you could make this as painless as possible."
The doctor chuckled, his hands already reaching for his bag of medical supplies. "I will do my best, Goddess. Now, let us see how far along you are."
As the doctor examined Athena, she couldn't help but think about the man responsible for her current predicament. Hercules, the demigod of strength and hero of a thousand tales, had been the one to break her vow of chastity. It had been a night of passion that Athena had never intended to happen, but she couldn't deny the connection she felt to Hercules.
"Goddess, your twins are almost here," the doctor said, his face growing serious as he realized how close she was to delivering. "I must ask, do you wish for Hercules, the father of your children, to be present for the birth?"
Athena's eyes narrowed at the mention of Hercules. "Hercules? The man who couldn't keep his hands to himself and broke my vow of chastity? I think not."
The doctor raised an eyebrow, but wisely kept his mouth shut. "Very well, Goddess. We shall proceed without him."
As the doctor prepared for the birth, Athena couldn't help but think about Hercules. She had never intended to break her vow, but one night of passion with the strong and handsome demigod had changed everything. With a final push, Athena's first child, a beautiful girl with curly blonde hair and grey eyes, slid into the world. The doctor handed her to Athena, who couldn't help but be in awe of the tiny creature in her arms.
"She is perfect," Athena whispered, her heart swelling with love for her daughter. Moments later, Athena's second child, a strong and healthy boy with brown hair and grey eyes, was born. Athena couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment.
As the doctor cleansed up and prepared to leave, Athena couldn't help but think about Hercules again. Despite her anger and frustration, she couldn't deny the connection she felt to him.
"Doctor, before you go, I have one question," Athena said, her voice soft.
The doctor turned to her, his hands still covered in blood. "Yes, Goddess?"
"Do you think Hercules will want to meet his children?" Athena asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
The doctor chuckled, his eyes twinkling with humor. "I think, Goddess, that Hercules would be a fool not to."
Athena couldn't help but smile at the doctor's words. She knew that she would have to face Hercules eventually, but for now, she would enjoy the peace and quiet of her birthing chamber with her newborn twins.
