The grand feast of the gods was in full swing, the great hall of Mount Olympus buzzing with divine energy. Aniya, the goddess of sins and ruler of Tartarus, sat amongst the other gods, her tan skin glowing in the soft light of the hall. Her curly brown hair cascaded down her shoulders as she raised her goblet, her eyes shining with mischief.
"Let me tell you of a little trip Hera and I took," Aniya began, her words slurring slightly from the wine. The gods leaned in, intrigued.
"We were in the mortal realm, and I had to step away for a moment to freshen up," Aniya continued. "I left Hera alone, and when I returned, she was nowhere to be found."
Hera, the queen of the gods, shot Aniya a warning look, but Aniya ignored it, her story spilling out of her. "I searched high and low for her, and finally, I found one of her high heels near a door."
Aniya paused for dramatic effect, a playful smile on her lips. "I nearly knocked the door down, thinking something terrible had happened to Hera. But what I found instead..."
She leaned in closer, her voice dropping to a whisper. "I found Hera, entwined with a mortal man. She was... let's just say she was otherwise occupied."
The gods gasped, and Hera's face turned red with anger. "Aniya, you impudent wretch!" she cried.
But Aniya was unrepentant, a wicked gleam in her eye. "I couldn't believe it," she said. "Here was Hera, the faithful wife, the doting mother, the queen of the gods, breaking her vows to Zeus."
Zeus, the king of the gods, looked at Hera, his expression unreadable. "Is this true, my queen?" he asked.
Hera, her face still flushed, tried to defend herself. "It was nothing, my lord," she said. "Aniya is exaggerating."
But Aniya shook her head, a smirk on her lips. "Oh no, my dear Hera," she said. "I saw it with my own eyes. You were... enjoying yourself."
Hera, her anger turning to desperation, tried to change the subject. "Aniya, you've had too much to drink," she said. "Let's go back to Olympus."
But Aniya was on a roll, her story spinning out of control. "We left, of course," she said. "But then, a few weeks later, Hera discovered she was pregnant."
The gods were stunned, their eyes wide with shock. "She lied to Zeus," Aniya said, her voice full of disgust. "She told him the child was his, but we all know the truth."
She took a deep breath, her eyes meeting Zeus'. "And that, my dear gods, is how Hephaestus was born."
Hera's eyes narrowed, and she stood up, her chair scraping against the marble floor. "Aniya, you will regret this," she said, her voice low and dangerous.
But Aniya just laughed, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Oh Hera, my dear," she said. "I already do."
The gods erupted in laughter, and Hera stormed out of the hall, her face thunderous. Aniya watched her go, a satisfied smile on her lips.
"Another round, my friends?" she said, holding up her goblet. "This goddess has many more tales to tell."
