The birthing chamber of the palace was a flurry of activity as Circe, the powerful witch, writhed in pain on the ornate birthing bed. Her loyal nymphs, led by her best friend and head nymph, Thetis, were doing their best to soothe her.
"At least you're not giving birth to a horse, like that other witch we know," Thetis said, trying to make a joke to lighten the mood.
Circe shot Thetis a playful glare. "If I were, I'd make sure it had a golden mane and could run faster than Hermes himself."
Thetis chuckled, and Circe let out a groan as another contraction hit. Suddenly, the doors to the birthing chamber burst open, and in walked Hermes, looking worried and disheveled.
Circe's eyes widened in shock, and she couldn't help but let out a scream of pain. Hermes rushed to her side, looking concerned.
"Circe, are you okay? Is the baby okay?" he asked.
Circe took a deep breath and nodded. "Yes, we're both fine. The baby was born just a few minutes ago."
Hermes looked relieved, and then his eyes fell on the baby, who was being held by one of the nymphs. He couldn't help but let out a gasp of awe. "She's beautiful, just like her mother."
Circe rolled her eyes, even in her exhausted state. "Don't try to butter me up, Hermes. We both know we're not together anymore."
Hermes looked sheepish and then gave Circe a small smile. "I know, but I still care about you and the baby. I want to be a part of her life."
Circe considered this for a moment and then nodded. "I think that can be arranged. But on my terms."
Hermes nodded eagerly. "Of course, anything you say."
Circe grinned, feeling a sense of power and control. "Good. Now, go get me some food. I'm starving."
Hermes looked taken aback but quickly nodded and left the room. Circe watched him go, a small smile playing on her lips. She was in control now, and she was going to make sure that things went her way.
As the nymphs cleaned her up and helped her into a comfortable position, Circe couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. The baby was healthy and strong, and she had a powerful ally in Hermes. She was going to make sure that her daughter had the best possible start in life, even if it meant butting heads with Hermes along the way.
As she drifted off to sleep, Circe couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement for the future. She was a strong, controlling woman, and she was going to make sure that her daughter knew it too.
