When Hestia Found Out: A Tale of Unplanned Pregnancy, Playful Insults, and Godly Shenanigans

The bathroom door creaked open, and Hestia, my roommate and best friend, walked in. Her eyes immediately went to me, and then to the two positive pregnancy tests in my hand.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" she said with a smirk, crossing her arms.

I hesitated before responding, "I'm pregnant...and the father is my ex-husband, Hephaestus."

Hestia's eyebrows shot up, "So, did you two not use protection? Birth control, pulling out, or condoms? Or did you both throw caution to the wind?"

I rolled my eyes, "Of course we used protection, but apparently it wasn't enough."

Hestia chuckled, "Well, looks like someone's going to be a mommy."

I scoffed, "Thanks for the support."

Hestia put a hand on my shoulder, "I'm just messing with you, I'm here for you. This is a big surprise, but we'll figure it out together."

I nodded, feeling a sense of relief.

Hestia looked at the pregnancy tests again, "Two positive tests, huh? You must be pretty fertile."

I rolled my eyes, "Thanks for that observation."

Hestia grinned, "Anytime. Now, let's go tell Hephaestus the news."

I took a deep breath, "Okay, let's do this."

We walked out of the bathroom and towards Hephaestus's workshop. I could feel my heart racing with every step I took. I had no idea how Hephaestus was going to react to the news. Would he be happy? Angry? Confused?

As we entered the workshop, Hephaestus looked up from his workbench and saw us. "What's going on?" he asked, wiping his hands on a rag.

I took a deep breath, "I have something to tell you. I'm pregnant...and you're the father."

Hephaestus's eyebrows shot up, and he looked at me in shock. "What? How is that possible?"

I shrugged, "I don't know. We used protection, but I guess it wasn't enough."

Hephaestus ran a hand through his hair, "This is a lot to take in. I need some time to process this."

I nodded, "I understand. Take all the time you need."

Hestia put a hand on my shoulder, "We'll be here for you, no matter what."

Hephaestus looked at me, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to react like that. I'm just surprised."

I smiled, "It's okay. I was surprised too."

Hephaestus walked over to me and took my hands in his, "I'm here for you, and I'll support you in any way I can."

I felt a sense of relief wash over me, "Thank you. I'm glad we can get through this together."

Hestia grinned, "Looks like we're going to be a family after all."

We all laughed, and I knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, we would face them together.
