Aphrodite stood in front of her bathroom mirror, her heart pounding in her chest as she held two positive pregnancy tests in her trembling hands. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. How could this have happened? She was the goddess of love and beauty, for crying out loud. She was supposed to be above such human errors.
But as she stared at the little pink lines, she knew there was no denying it. She was pregnant.
The bathroom door swung open, and Hestia walked in, raising an eyebrow at the sight of the pregnancy tests. "Well, well, well, what do we have here?" she said with a playful smirk.
Aphrodite burst into tears, "I don't know what to do, Hestia! I had a one-night stand with my ex-husband, Hephaestus, at a party eight weeks ago, and now I'm pregnant with twins!"
Hestia put a comforting arm around Aphrodite's shoulders, "Aphrodite, I don't want to be rude, but how drunk were you that you got knocked up by your ex-husband?"
Aphrodite glared at Hestia, "I was not drunk! I was just... lonely. And Hephaestus was there. And, well, one thing led to another."
Hestia laughed, "Oh, Aphrodite, you and your love affairs. Well, there's no turning back now. Let's get you to the hospital and make sure everything is okay."
At the hospital, Aphrodite was poked and prodded by doctors and nurses. She was overwhelmed by the foreign sights and sounds of the human world. Hestia stood by her side, offering words of encouragement and making jokes to lighten the mood.
"At least you'll have two little loves to take care of," she said with a grin.
Aphrodite rolled her eyes, "Yes, because I don't have enough to do already. Goddess of love, beauty, and now mother of twins. I'm going to be exhausted."
Hestia chuckled, "You'll figure it out, Aphrodite. You always do."
The doctor finally came in with the results, "Congratulations, Ms. Aphrodite, you are indeed pregnant with twins. We'll need to schedule a follow-up appointment to monitor the pregnancy, but everything looks good for now."
Aphrodite's face lit up with a mix of excitement and fear, "Twins? I'm going to be a mother of twins?"
Hestia grins, "Yes, you are. And I'll be here to help you every step of the way."
Aphrodite looked at Hestia with gratitude, "Thank you, Hestia. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Hestia winked, "You'd figure it out, just like you always do. Now, let's get you home and start planning for those little bundles of joy."
As they walked out of the hospital, Aphrodite couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement for what was to come. She was nervous, yes, but she was also strong, controlling, and direct. She could handle anything that came her way, even motherhood. And with Hestia by her side, she knew she could conquer anything.
