Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty, stood in front of her bathroom mirror, holding two positive pregnancy tests in disbelief. She blinked, hoping the little pink lines would disappear, but they remained stubbornly present.
"Aphrodite, what's wrong, my dear?" Hestia, the goddess of the hearth and home, walked in, noticing Aphrodite's tears. Her voice was filled with concern, her eyes filled with warmth.
Aphrodite turned to Hestia, her eyes welling up with tears. "I-I'm pregnant," she stammers, her voice barely above a whisper.
Hestia raised an eyebrow, looking at the tests in Aphrodite's hand. "Well, that's quite a surprise. Who's the father?"
Aphrodite took a deep breath, "Hephaestus."
Hestia's eyes widened. "Your ex-husband? The Mexican god of fire and metalworking?"
Aphrodite nodded, "We had a one-night stand at a party, eight weeks ago."
Hestia chuckled, "Aphrodite, I don't want to be rude, but how drunk were you that you got knocked up by your ex-husband?"
Aphrodite glared at Hestia, playfully insulted. "I was not drunk, Hestia. It was a moment of weakness, alright?"
Hestia smiled, "Alright, alright. Let's get you to the hospital. We need to confirm this and see how many little gods you've got in there."
At the hospital, the doctor confirmed Aphrodite's pregnancy and revealed an unexpected twist - she was carrying twins.
Aphrodite's eyes widened in shock, "Twins? Oh my gods..."
Hestia laughed, "Well, Aphrodite, it seems like you've got your hands full. Let's get you home and figure out what to do next."
As they left the hospital, Aphrodite couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and fear. She was about to become a mother, and she had no idea what was in store for her.
But one thing was for sure - she was going to face this challenge head-on, just like the strong, controlling, and direct goddess she was.
"Hestia, I'm scared," Aphrodite admitted, as they walked out of the hospital.
Hestia put an arm around Aphrodite's shoulders, "It's okay to be scared, Aphrodite. But you're not alone. I'll be here for you, every step of the way."
Aphrodite smiled, feeling a sense of relief. She may have been a goddess, but she was also a woman, and she needed the support of her friends.
As they walked towards the car, Aphrodite couldn't help but wonder what Hephaestus would think when she told him. She hadn't planned on telling him at all, but now, she had no choice.
"I have to tell Hephaestus," Aphrodite said, more to herself than to Hestia.
Hestia nodded, "I think that's a good idea. He has a right to know."
Aphrodite took a deep breath, "I know. I'll call him when we get home."
Hestia smiled, "That's the spirit, Aphrodite. You've got this."
Aphrodite nodded, feeling a sense of determination. She was a goddess, after all, and she could handle anything that came her way.
As they drove home, Aphrodite couldn't help but think about the future. She was going to be a mother, and she couldn't wait to meet her little gods.
But first, she had to tell Hephaestus. And she had a feeling that was going to be a surprise of godly proportions.
