Aphrodite stood in front of the mirror, her perfectly manicured hands trembling as she held two positive pregnancy tests. The sight of those little pink lines was enough to make her heart race and her knees buckle. She heard the door open and turned to see Hestia, her dearest friend and fellow goddess, enter the room.
Hestia took one look at Aphrodite and the tests, and raised an eyebrow. "Well, someone had a busy night," she said, trying to hide the shock in her voice.
Aphrodite's bottom lip began to quiver as she tearfully explained the situation. "It's Hephaestus," she choked out. "We had a one-night stand at Dionysus' party, eight weeks ago. I had no idea... I didn't think it was possible."
Hestia, being the caring person she was, took Aphrodite in her arms and consoled her. "Oh, my dear," she said. "It's going to be alright. We'll figure this out together."
After Aphrodite calmed down, Hestia helped her get ready to go to the hospital. As they sat in the waiting room, Hestia tried to lighten the mood by making playful insults about Aphrodite's love life.
"I can't believe you, Aphrodite," Hestia said, shaking her head. "The goddess of love, knocking boots with her ex-husband? I never thought I'd see the day."
Aphrodite couldn't help but laugh, despite the situation. "I know, I know," she said. "It was a mistake. But it happened, and now we have to deal with the consequences."
The doctor called Aphrodite in for an ultrasound, and Hestia accompanied her. As they watched the screen, the doctor confirmed that Aphrodite was pregnant with twins.
Aphrodite's eyes widened in shock and she began to cry again. Hestia, being the strong and controlling person she was, took charge and assured Aphrodite that they would get through this together.
"It's going to be okay," Hestia said, squeezing Aphrodite's hand. "We'll figure this out. You're not alone in this."
Aphrodite started to feel better, knowing she had Hestia by her side. The doctor gave her some information and advice about the pregnancy, and Aphrodite and Hestia left the hospital, ready to face the challenges ahead.
As they walked out of the hospital, Aphrodite turned to Hestia. "Thank you," she said. "I don't know what I would do without you."
Hestia smiled. "You'd figure it out," she said. "But I'm glad I could be here for you. We're in this together, Aphrodite. Always."
And with that, the two goddesses walked off into the sunset, ready to take on the adventure of a lifetime.
