The grand hall of the Olympian estate was filled with the boisterous laughter and loud chatter of the gods and goddesses as Hephaestus, I, and Ivory entered. The room seemed to hum with energy, and I felt a thrill run down my spine as I took in the opulence of the scene.
"Hephaestus, you old dog!" Momus called out, clapping him on the back. "Good to see you made it."
Hephaestus grinned, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Wouldn't miss it for the world."
Aphrodite, ever the peacemaker, turned to Hephaestus with a smirk. "And what are you thankful for this year, my love?"
Hephaestus's expression softened, and he replied, "The joy of creation and the love of my family."
Ivory, without missing a beat, said, "I'm thankful I only have to see you once a year, Aphrodite."
The room fell silent for a moment, before erupting in laughter. Aphrodite's cheeks flushed, but she recovered quickly, shooting Ivory a playful glare.
Momus, trying to save face, said, "At least I have my G.E.D."
Ivory retorted, "But do you know where your D.A.D is?"
The room burst into laughter again, and I couldn't help but smile at Ivory's quick wit. She had a way of cutting through the tension and making everyone laugh, even in the most uncomfortable situations.
Zeus, trying to maintain order, said, "That attitude ain't never leaving, is it, Ivory?"
Ivory, with a sly smile, said, "But your first two wives did."
The room fell silent once more, before Hera, with a forced smile, said, "Let's all take our seats and enjoy the feast!"
As we all took our seats, Hephaestus whispered in my ear, "You know, she's not wrong. Your wit is sharper than a sword."
I replied, "Ivory's a quick learner. She picks up on everything."
Hephaestus chuckled and squeezed my hand, "That she does."
The feast began, and I couldn't help but notice the way Aphrodite kept glancing at Hephaestus. I leaned in and whispered in Hephaestus's ear, "Looks like someone has a crush."
Hephaestus rolled his eyes and whispered back, "She always has. It's nothing new."
I laughed softly and continued to enjoy the feast, but I couldn't shake the feeling that Aphrodite's gaze was becoming more intense. As the night wore on, I excused myself to use the restroom.
As I was washing my hands, Aphrodite entered, a sly smile on her face. She leaned against the counter, her eyes locked on mine.
"You know, you're quite the catch," she said, her voice low and seductive.
I raised an eyebrow, feigning ignorance. "Oh?"
Aphrodite took a step closer, her body brushing against mine. "Yes. You're strong, controlling, and direct. Just like I like them."
I smiled, my eyes sparkling with amusement. "I'm flattered, but I'm afraid I'm not interested."
Aphrodite pouted, her bottom lip jutting out in a seductive pout. "Are you sure? I could show you things you've never even dreamed of."
I laughed softly and pushed her gently away. "I'm sure. I'm happy with who I'm with."
Aphrodite sighed, but she smiled, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "Fine. But if you ever change your mind, you know where to find me."
I smiled, my eyes locked on hers. "I'll keep that in mind."
As I left the restroom, I couldn't help but feel a thrill run down my spine. Aphrodite was a force to be reckoned with, but I was confident in my relationship with Hephaestus. We were strong, controlling, and direct - just like Aphrodite had said. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
