When Ivory Met the Gods: A Thanksgiving to Remember

Chapter One: A Family Affair

The grand hall of the Olympian estate was alive with the boisterous laughter and chatter of the gods and goddesses as Hephaestus, I, and Ivory walked in. The room was a dazzling display of opulence, with golden chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and marble statues lining the walls.

But it wasn't the extravagant decor that caught my attention. No, it was the sight of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, approaching me with a sneer. She was dressed in a revealing outfit that left little to the imagination, and she looked me up and down with a look of disgust.

"What are you thankful for this year, ugly?" she said, her voice dripping with venom.

Without missing a beat, Ivory retorted, "I'm thankful I only have to see you once a year."

Momus, the god of mockery, chuckled and said, "At least I have my G.E.D," to which Ivory replied, "But do you know where your D.A.D is?"

The room fell silent, and I could feel the tension in the air as the gods and goddesses exchanged uncomfortable glances. Hephaestus squeezed my hand, a silent show of support, as we both tried to defuse the situation.

I engaged in small talk with the other gods and goddesses, trying to steer the conversation away from the earlier tension. But Aphrodite was not so easily deterred. She continued to throw passive-aggressive jabs my way, and I replied with playful insults, never losing my cool. Ivory watched the exchange with wide eyes, clearly impressed.

Hephaestus, who had been quietly observing the interaction, chimes in with a well-timed joke, breaking the tension and earning him laughs from the other gods and goddesses. The rest of the dinner passed without further incident, and I found myself enjoying the company of my family, despite their flaws.

As the night came to a close, Hephaestus, Ivory, and I gathered our things and prepared to leave. Aphrodite approached me one last time, trying to apologize for her behavior. But I cut her off with a playful insult, leaving her stunned.

We left the estate with a smile on my face, knowing that I and my family can handle anything that comes our way. After all, we're not just any family, we're the Olympians. And when it comes to drama, we can give the Kardashians a run for their money.

As we walked to the car, Ivory turned to me and said, "You know, I always thought you were just a pushover. But watching you handle Aphrodite like that, I see now that you're not someone to be messed with."

I smiled and said, "Thanks, Ivory. I'm glad I could show you that side of me."

Hephaestus put his arm around my shoulder and said, "You know, I'm proud of you. You handled that situation with grace and wit. You're truly a force to be reckoned with."

I leaned into his embrace, feeling a warmth and love that I had never felt before. I realized that no matter what challenges lay ahead, I had the strength and support of my family to see me through. And for that, I was truly thankful.

The night was cold, but my heart was warm as we drove away from the estate, leaving the drama and tension behind. I looked out the window, watching the stars twinkle in the night sky, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of peace and contentment.

I was home. I was with my family. And I was ready for whatever came next.
