When Joy Meets Wicked Wit: The Tale of Brigette, Apollo, and the Not-So-Tender Mercy of Momus

Chapter One: The Arrival of Solace

The room was thick with tension as Brigitte, a woman of light pink hair and dark eyes, lay on the bed, her face scrunched up in pain. She was in the throes of labor, and her husband, Apollo, stood by her side, looking pale and on the verge of fainting.

"Come on, Brigitte, you can do this," Apollo said, trying to be strong for his wife. But his voice wavered, and he looked like he could use a stiff drink.

Brigitte, in between contractions, looked over at Apollo and playfully insulted him. "Man up, Apollo. Stop being such a baby."

Apollo took a deep breath and held her hand, trying to be the rock she needed.

After a few hours of labor, Brigitte finally gave birth to a healthy baby boy. He had curly blonde hair and blue eyes, just like his father. Apollo, overwhelmed with emotion, almost passed out, but was quickly revived by Brigitte's playful insults.

"Get it together, Apollo. I need you to be strong for our son," she said, a small smile playing on her lips.

A week later, the rest of the family was allowed to visit and meet Solace. They were all in awe of the beautiful baby. Momus, the son of Nyx, known for his sharp tongue and harsh critiques, approached Brigitte and asked if he could hold Solace.

Brigitte hesitated, but eventually handed over Solace to Momus, warning him to be careful. Momus, in his usual playful manner, started tossing Solace in the air.

Brigitte, growing concerned, told Momus to stop, but Momus didn't listen and tossed Solace higher.

"Momus, I mean it. Stop," Brigitte said, her voice rising.

But it was too late. As Solace was in mid-air, Momus lost his grip and Solace fell to the floor. Brigitte, in a panic, rushed over to pick up Solace.

Momus, realizing the seriousness of the situation, quickly apologized and offered to help.

"Get lost, Momus. And never come near my baby again," Brigitte said, her voice cold and direct.

Momus, not one to back down, playfully insulted Brigitte, calling her "overprotective" and "a worrywart".

Brigitte, not taking the insult lightly, threw a pillow at Momus and told him to leave. Momus, laughing, exited the room, leaving Brigitte and Solace in peace.

Brigitte, looking down at Solace, couldn't help but smile. She felt a sense of joy and fulfillment that she had never experienced before. This was her son, her flesh and blood, and she would do anything to protect him.

"Welcome to the world, Solace," she whispered, kissing him on the forehead. "I promise to always be there for you."
