The scent of smoke and the rhythmic clanging of metal greeted Cady as she stepped into the hidden underground forge. It was a sanctuary for Hephaestus, a place where he could escape from the cruel jokes and taunts of the other gods.
Cady found him slumped over his anvil, his muscular shoulders tense with frustration. She approached him, always direct and unafraid. "What's got your hammer in a twist, Hephaestus?"
He looked up at her, his dark eyes filled with embarrassment. "Aphrodite and Ares. Their jokes about my fertility... it's getting old."
Cady couldn't help but roll her eyes. "Petty little things, aren't they? Insecure, too. Don't let them get to you." She placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, feeling the heat emanating from his body. "Your ability to create life through your inventions is just as impressive as fathering children."
Hephaestus looked at her, his expression softening. "Thank you, Cady. I needed to hear that."
As they worked together, Cady noticed a spark between them. She teased him about his "infertile" status, her eyes gleaming with mischief. "Maybe it's just me that you can't resist."
Hephaestus laughed, his deep voice echoing through the forge. "You're something else, Cady." But as they continued to work, the spark between them grew stronger.
Cady, sensing Hephaestus' growing attraction, took matters into her own hands. She pulled him in for a kiss, surprising him but also igniting a passion within him.
The two gods lost themselves in each other's embrace, forgetting about their worries and insecurities. Cady, always in control, laid down some ground rules. Only a select few gods would be allowed to see the baby - Her, Zeus, Athena, Dionysus, and Artemis. The others would have to wait a month to see the baby.
Hephaestus, still reeling from the news, agreed to Cady's terms. He couldn't believe that he, the god of fire and metal, had created life with the goddess of inventions and technology.
As Cady's pregnancy progressed, she and Hephaestus continued to work together, creating new inventions and bonding over their shared experiences. They knew that they had something special, and they were determined to cherish and protect it.
The other gods, noticing Cady and Hephaestus' growing closeness, began to whisper and speculate. But for now, the two gods kept their secret, enjoying their newfound love in private.
As they lay in each other's arms, Cady couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. She had found a partner in Hephaestus, someone who understood and supported her.
Hephaestus, too, was filled with joy. He had found solace in Cady's arms, and he couldn't wait to see what the future held for them.
