When the Gym Rat Steals the Groom: A Tale of Pre-Marital Indiscretion (Note: This title plays on the idea of Josh being an attractive, athletic friend who 'steals' Laure away from her fiance Richard, while also incorporating a playful insult towards Josh.)

Chapter One: A Cozy Dinner for Three

The aroma of garlic and basil wafted through Laure's cozy apartment, mingling with the faint scent of candle wax. She put the finishing touches on the spaghetti carbonara she'd prepared for Richard and Josh, her fiancé and best friend. A little thrill ran through her at the thought of having Josh over, even if it was just as friends. She shook her head, amused at her own thoughts. Josh was like a brother to her, and she needed to stop thinking of him in any other way.

Richard walked into the kitchen, a smile on his face. "Something smells amazing in here."

Laure looked up from the stove and stuck her tongue out at him. "You're only here for the food."

Richard laughed and wrapped his arms around her waist, planting a kiss on her cheek. "That's not true. I'm here for you, too."

She smiled, enjoying the feel of his arms around her. Richard was her rock, her safe haven. She felt lucky to have him in her life.

A knock on the door signaled Josh's arrival. Laure pulled away from Richard and went to answer it, feeling a flutter of excitement in her stomach. She opened the door to reveal Josh, looking handsome in a button-down shirt and jeans.

"Hey, guys," he said, holding up a bottle of wine. "I come bearing gifts."

Laure took the wine and gave him a hug. "Thanks, Josh. You didn't have to do that."

Josh grinned. "I know, but I wanted to. Plus, I figured it would help loosen everyone up."

They all sat down to eat, the conversation easy and flowing. Laure and Josh reminisced about old times, while Richard chimed in with the occasional witty remark. Laure found herself laughing more than she had in a long time, the tension of the day melting away.

After dinner, Richard suggested they move to the living room for drinks. Laure agreed, and the three of them made their way to the couch. Richard poured everyone a glass of wine and then excused himself, saying he was tired and was going to head to bed.

Laure and Josh were left alone, and the atmosphere in the room shifted. They started making playful insults at each other, trying to one-up each other with their wit.

"You're just a pretty face, Josh," Laure said, sipping her wine. "There's no substance to you."

Josh raised an eyebrow. "And you're just a control freak, Laure. Always trying to boss everyone around."

Laure stuck her tongue out at him. "That's not true. I'm just assertive."

As the night wore on, the insults became more and more flirtatious. Laure could feel the heat building between them, and she knew that they were on the brink of something more. She made the first move, leaning in to kiss Josh. He responded eagerly, and they were quickly lost in each other.

They moved to the bedroom, shedding their clothes as they went. Laure took control, directing Josh to do what she wanted. She explored his body, taking pleasure in every touch and kiss. She couldn't help but think about Richard, sleeping just a few rooms away. She pushed the thought aside, focusing on the pleasure she was experiencing with Josh.

As they reached the climax, Laure couldn't help but think about Richard again. She pushed the guilt aside, focusing on the moment. She knew they would have to face the consequences of their actions in the morning, but for now, she wanted to enjoy this.

They lay in bed, catching their breath. Laure couldn't help but feel a little guilty about what they'd just done. Josh reassured her, saying that they didn't mean to hurt Richard. Laure knew he was right, but she couldn't shake the feeling that things were about to get complicated.

They fell asleep in each other's arms, knowing that they had to face the consequences of their actions in the morning. As Laure drifted off to sleep, she couldn't help but wonder if this was a one-time thing or if it was the start of something more. She made a mental note to talk to Josh about it in the morning, knowing that they needed to figure out what this meant for their friendship and for her relationship with Richard.
