Davina groggily opened her eyes, the sound of Mikey's laughter ringing in her ears. She stretched her arms above her head, feeling a satisfying soreness in her muscles that she couldn't quite place. As she sat up, the events of the previous night came rushing back to her.
She was in Gabriel's mansion, in his master bedroom. And she was naked.
She quickly grabbed the sheets and covered herself, her heart racing as she heard footsteps approaching the door. It was Gabriel, looking disheveled and hungover as he stopped in his tracks at the sight of her lying in his bed.
"Good morning, boss," Davina said, trying to keep her voice light and casual.
Gabriel rubbed his temples, his eyes squinted in pain as he tried to recall the previous night's events. "What...what happened last night?" he asked, his voice hoarse.
Davina raised an eyebrow. "You don't remember?" she said, a smirk playing on her lips. "You were pretty drunk."
Gabriel's eyes widened as realization dawned on him. "Oh god," he muttered. "I didn't...I didn't take advantage of you, did I?"
Davina couldn't help but laugh. "No, you didn't take advantage of me," she said. "I was a willing participant."
Gabriel looked relieved, but still uncomfortable. "I'm sorry," he said, running a hand through his hair. "I didn't mean for that to happen."
Davina rolled her eyes. "Oh, please. You're a grown man, not a teenager. You don't have to apologize for having consensual sex with your employee."
Gabriel looked taken aback. "Employee?" he repeated. "You're my son's nanny, Davina."
Davina shrugged. "And your employee," she said. "You're my boss, after all."
Gabriel ran a hand through his hair. "This is...this is complicated," he said.
Davina nodded. "It is," she agreed. "But it's not unsolvable. We just need to be adults about it."
Gabriel looked at her, his expression softening. "You're right," he said. "I'll try to be more responsible."
Davina grinned. "Good," she said. "Because I'm not going anywhere. I have a job to do, and I'm going to do it well."
Gabriel couldn't help but smile at her confidence. "I have no doubt about that," he said.
Davina stood up, the sheets falling to the ground as she searched for her clothes. Gabriel turned away, giving her some privacy as she dressed.
"I'll go check on Mikey," she said, as she made her way to the door.
Gabriel nodded. "I'll make us some coffee," he said.
As Davina left the room, she couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. She was a strong, confident woman who knew what she wanted. And she wasn't afraid to go after it, even if it meant taking a risk.
She may have crossed a line with Gabriel, but she wasn't afraid of the consequences. She was ready to face whatever came her way, as long as she could do it on her own terms.
