Chapter One:
The Angelini family mansion was a sprawling estate, filled with opulence and grandeur. The high ceilings and marble floors echoed with the sound of laughter and conversation, as the family gathered for their weekly meeting.
Nicole, the 16-year-old brown-haired, green-eyed beauty, was lounging on the plush couch in the living room, flipping through a fashion magazine. She was the epitome of elegance and grace, with a confident air that commanded attention.
Gabriel, the 17-year-old white-haired, blue-eyed cousin, burst into the room, followed by Cassiel, the 20-year-old brown-haired, blue-eyed second cousin. They were both dressed in tailored suits, their faces etched with concern.
"Nicole, we need to talk," Gabriel said, his voice serious.
Nicole (sighs): "What is it now, Gabe?"
Cassiel: "It's about Uncle Ralph's favoritism towards you."
Nicole (laughs): "You two are just jealous because I'm the most popular girl in school and you're not."
Gabriel: "It's not just that, Nic. It's like he's grooming you to take over the family business."
Nicole (smirks): "And what's wrong with that? I am the first girl born into the family in 200 years, after all."
Cassiel: "But you're a girl! You shouldn't be involved in the mafia."
Nicole (rolls her eyes): "Oh, please. I can handle myself just fine."
Gabriel: "Fine. Then tell us three instances when you were a baby, three instances when you were a kid, and three instances now where Uncle Ralph has shown favoritism towards you."
Nicole (thinks for a moment): "Alright, here are three instances when I was a baby:
1) Uncle Ralph visited me every day in the hospital after I was born.
2) He was the one who chose my name.
3) He gave me a diamond necklace on my first birthday."
Gabriel (interrupted): "Okay, okay. What about when you were a kid?"
Nicole: "3) Uncle Ralph paid for my private school education.
2) He took me on vacations to exotic places.
3) He always gave me the biggest presents on Christmas and my birthday."
Cassiel (frustrated): "Alright, alright. And now?"
Nicole (smirks): "3) Uncle Ralph made me the head cheerleader of my school.
2) He gave me a brand new car for my sixteenth birthday.
3) And just last week, he offered to take me on a business trip with him to New York."
Gabriel and Cassiel (in unison): "What?!"
Nicole (laughs): "See, I told you. Uncle Ralph has always favored me."
Gabriel (sighs): "This is not good, Nic. You need to be careful."
Nicole (winks): "Don't worry, I can handle it. I'm an Angelini, after all."
Gabriel and Cassiel exchanged worried glances, as they realized the depth of Uncle Ralph's favoritism towards Nicole. They knew that the mafia was a dangerous world, and they didn't want Nicole to get hurt.
But Nicole was determined to prove herself, to show that she was just as capable as any of the men in the family. She was a force to be reckoned with, a woman who was not afraid to take charge and assert herself.
As the night wore on, the conversation turned to other topics, but the issue of Uncle Ralph's favoritism remained at the back of everyone's mind. They knew that it was a ticking time bomb, waiting to explode at any moment.
But for now, they could only wait and see, and hope that Nicole would be safe.
As the night drew to a close, Nicole stood up, her magazine forgotten.
"I think I'm going to go to bed," she said, her voice tired.
Gabriel and Cassiel nodded, their faces still etched with concern.
"Goodnight, Nic," Gabriel said, his voice soft.
"Sleep well," Cassiel added.
Nicole smiled, her eyes shining with determination.
"I will," she said, her voice firm.
And with that, she turned and walked away, her head held high.
She was an Angelini, and she was ready to take on the world.
