Whispers of the Crimson Inn

Whispers of the Crimson Inn

Chapter 1: The Unveiling at the Threshold

In the shadowed heart of 1432, where cobblestone streets whispered secrets under the moon's pale gaze, Eleanor and Thomas strode toward the Crimson Inn, a notorious haven for clandestine desires. The air was thick with the scent of rain and forbidden promises as they approached the weathered oak door, its iron hinges groaning like a lover's sigh.

Eleanor, a woman of sharp wit and sharper curves, adjusted the lace of her bodice, her emerald eyes glinting with mischief. 'Thomas, are you certain you’re ready to bare all before old man Cedric? I’ve heard he’s got an eye for detail—and a ruler to match.'

Thomas, broad-shouldered and cocky, smirked, his hand resting possessively on her hip. 'Let him look, love. I’ve got nothing to hide and everything to boast. Besides, I wager he’ll be more jealous than judge.'

The door creaked open, revealing Cedric, the innkeeper, a man whose weathered face belied a body still taut with youthful vigor. His piercing gray eyes raked over them, a sly grin curling his lips. 'Well, well, another pair seeking the warmth of my rooms. You know the rules, lad. Strip. I’ve seen too many lasses leave here with tears instead of trembles. I’ll not have disappointment under my roof.'

Eleanor arched a brow, her voice dripping with honeyed challenge. 'And what of me, Cedric? Shall I parade for your pleasure too, or is this a cock-only affair?'

Cedric chuckled, a low, rumbling sound that sent a shiver down her spine. 'Lass, your fire’s already on display. But I’ll not say no to a show if you’re offering. For now, let’s see what your man’s packing.'

Thomas, unfazed, shed his tunic and breeches with a swagger, standing bare under Cedric’s appraising gaze. Eleanor bit her lip, her eyes tracing the hard lines of her husband’s body, a flush creeping up her neck. 'Satisfied, old man?' Thomas quipped, his tone laced with bravado.

Cedric nodded, a glint of approval in his eyes. 'Aye, you’ll do. Room three. Don’t break the bed—or do. I’ve got spares.'

Inside the dimly lit chamber, the air was heavy with the musk of old wood and new lust. Eleanor pushed Thomas against the wall, her fingers tangling in his hair as she claimed his mouth with a fierce kiss. 'You strutted like a peacock out there,' she purred, her voice a velvet blade. 'Now show me why I married you.'

Thomas grinned, spinning her around and pressing her against the rough-hewn table. 'Oh, I’ll show you, wench. Bend over.' Her skirts hiked up, revealing the creamy expanse of her thighs, and she glanced back with a wicked smile. 'Don’t keep me waiting, love. I’m already wet for you.'

As he positioned himself behind her, his hands gripping her hips, the door creaked open. Cedric stood there, his shirt half-unbuttoned, revealing a chest dusted with dark hair. 'Thought I’d check if you’re making good on that promise, lad,' he drawled, his voice a smoky caress. 'Mind if I watch… or join?'

Eleanor’s laughter was low and daring. 'Only if you can keep up, Cedric. I’m not one for half-measures.'

Thomas, panting already, shot the innkeeper a challenging look. 'Come on then. Let’s see if you’ve got more than rules in you.'

The room crackled with tension, the promise of sweat-slicked skin and primal rhythm hanging heavy as Cedric stepped closer, shedding his restraint with his shirt. The night was young, and the Crimson Inn was about to witness a storm of desire.
