Wild Flames: A Jungle Inferno

Wild Flames: A Jungle Inferno

Chapter 1: Embers in the Night

The jungle was a labyrinth of shadows and whispers, a place where the air hung heavy with the scent of damp earth and untamed desire. Anushka Sen, with her fierce eyes and a body that could command attention without a word, sat by the crackling fire, her skin glowing under the flickering light. Rohan, Vikram’s ruggedly handsome friend, crouched beside her, his jaw tight with concern for their missing companion. The night was cold, the kind of chill that bit into your bones, and they had only one blanket between them.

'If Vikram doesn’t show up soon, I’m going to hunt him down myself,' Anushka snapped, her voice sharp as the edge of a blade. She wasn’t one to wait around helplessly, but the jungle had swallowed him whole after a chaotic run-in with a pack of wild boars. 'He’s probably out there flirting with a damn tiger.'

Rohan chuckled, his deep voice rumbling like distant thunder. 'Knowing Vikram, he’d charm the stripes off it. But we’re stuck here, and it’s freezing. Scoot over, princess. I’m not dying of hypothermia because you’re too proud to share.'

Anushka shot him a glare that could’ve ignited the fire all over again, but she relented, pulling the blanket over her shoulder as she shifted closer. Their thighs brushed, and a spark—unrelated to the fire—flashed through her. She wasn’t about to admit it, though. 'Don’t get any ideas, Rohan. I’m only doing this because I’d rather not turn into an icicle.'

'Oh, come on, Anushka. I’m a perfect gentleman… unless you ask me not to be,' he teased, his smirk devilish in the firelight. His arm slid around her waist under the pretense of adjusting the blanket, and she felt the heat of his touch sear through her thin shirt. Her breath hitched, but she masked it with a scoff.

'You wish. I don’t beg, and I don’t break,' she fired back, though her body betrayed her words, leaning into his warmth. The jungle around them seemed to close in, the sounds of nocturnal creatures a primal soundtrack to the tension building between them. Their faces were inches apart now, the air charged with unspoken challenges.

'Is that so? Because I bet I could make you melt faster than this fire,' Rohan murmured, his voice low and dangerous. His hand lingered on her hip, fingers pressing just hard enough to make her pulse race. She could feel the hardness of his chest against her side, and damn if it didn’t make her curious about what else was hard under that rugged exterior.

Anushka tilted her chin up, her lips curling into a wicked smile. 'Big talk for a guy who’s probably all bark and no bite. Prove it, or shut it.' Her words were a dare, a gauntlet thrown down, and she saw the hunger flash in his eyes.

Without another word, Rohan’s hand slid up her back, pulling her closer until their lips were a whisper apart. The heat between them was unbearable now, her skin prickling with anticipation. She wasn’t about to back down—not when her body was already aching for more. The blanket slipped slightly, exposing the curve of her shoulder, and his gaze dropped to it, dark and ravenous.

'Careful, Anushka. I don’t play nice when I’m this horny,' he growled, and she felt the raw edge of his desire in every syllable. Her own need mirrored his, a wet heat pooling between her thighs as she pressed herself against him, daring him to make the next move.

The fire crackled louder, mirroring the inferno building inside them, as their lips finally crashed together in a kiss that was all teeth and hunger, a prelude to the explosion waiting just beneath the surface.
